I don't know where to start to describe my issue because it doesn't happened just now or few days ago. This whole story is for this account : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=377694

It happened around July 21st 2015.
That day I thought to change my password. Because I always forget my password so I decided to keep a simple in remember but complex in Nature.
As I already mentioned I always forget my password, I was logged in to my bitcointalk account from a long ago (thanks to my Chrome browser). And I didn't even know what my account password is with which I was logged in

So, there were only two options to get my password back. One was by email and another was Secret question. And the funniest part is that I also forgot my email password  ;DD
But hopefully I had written my the answer of my secret question in my Notebook.
I found that and changed my Password with the help of Secret question.

Then when I tried to log in my account, Something like this appears : https://i.imgur.com/iJr1YXG.jpg

I was aware of that my account is Locked not Blocked. As the image says to email to an address to get account back. But how ? I also forgot my email because that was a new email not my main one created long time.

So, I felt like my account is gone now because of my such dumb remembering power. From there, I started writing my password in a note book and kept that safe.

Someone yesterday told me that you should appeal for that account, and you can still get that back. You are not the only person who forget anything but almost everyone does that. Then I feel like yeah he is right cause I haven't been banned for spam posting, haven't posted spams but have reported many with 100% accuracy. The only mistake I did was I forget few sensitive Info's. And this is also not my Mistake. That secret question option locked it

So, Today I wants to appeal for that account to get it back. I have all proofs to show you that I am the owner of that account. I still own that bitcoin address associated with that account ( can sign message too). I still know answer of that secret question. There is a bit-x wallet address in 'other info' which I still own

And one of the renown person of this forum 'Muhammed Zakir' knows me and is my friend on fb. We also have had many deals here. And he clearly knows that I am the owner of that account.

So, guys please help me to get that account back..

I would suggest posting a signed message from the bitcoin address(es) associated with that account going back as far as you possibly can.
I would then have your friend vouch for you in this thread as well to gain yourself some credibility.

You should still contact the E-mail that it tells you to I believe, or possibly contact the moderators/admins of this forum VIA PM as well every so often.

hilariousandco (or any other moderators/global mods for the case) will not be able to help you. You will likely be ignored by him; sending an email and perhaps a PM to theymos is the only thing you can do.

You need to PM theymos or badbear, they are the only ones who can help you.

Send them the message that you signed in order to prove that you own the account.

Just create and use new account.
Themos rarely recover accounts and that too like hero or legendary.

What i should create a new account ? Just because of I used a option which made my account locked.
That secret question was there for use and which i did.

You can create a new account depending on ehy you got your account banned or locked. Don't try it if you are banned from the forum cause it will be considered as ban evasion.

Theymos and Badbear do recover accounts, not just Legendary and Hero accounts. I once got locked from this profile because I use my secret question to recover my password. Badbear helped me recover it. All I have to do is prove the ownerahip of the account.

A signed message will help also use the email you use to register here in the forum in sending a message to their email. That way your issue will be noticed.

I already sent pm to theymos and Badbear to look at this thread around half an hour ago.
But later I saw this one : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

So I again sent a pm to theymos in the same format as mentioned by him.
Hoping for something good

Don't expect to get a response quickly. I recovered my account about 2 weeks from the date it got locked. 2nd day of my email Badbear replied to my email asking me to prove the ownership of my account. So... It will take a lot more time to wait. Wink

admins get hundreds or maybe thousands of PM/email everyday. so its better if you can just wait for them to unlock your account if they see you really own it and the account didnt get compromised

looking for a signature campaign, dm me for that

They might get hundreds not thousands per day
And I already sent him details as he asked with writing a signed message to prove ownership.

I feel the same thing. He might be busy or because of hundreds of PMS my pm might get lost

I think you are underestimating the size of this forum.  I would say it's in thousands most likely.  They get reports of bad posts, spam, meta, emails, etc.   But there are multiple staff so it's split (not sure how it get's split).  But it takes a team to run the forums.

It is the biggest bitcoin forum by far.  And with that comes many many items needing staff.

Admins are the only ones that can reset passwords, and there are only 2 of them. They can't possibly be able to get to everything. Also, they probably get thousands of emails of random crap every day regarding the forum, so they can't possibly have enough time to sift through all of that to find your request. They aren't ignoring you, they just didn't get to your email or PM. I'm fairly certain that they also have real jobs, so they don't have all day to run the forum either.

One problem I have a feeling they have a problem with chances are a lot send multiple emails.  This is a compounding problem the more repeat emails the more time wasted.

So when someone does not get password reset for example in a day or two, they send a email, wait a day or two send another... etc.  I have a feeling this happens a lot since things can take time with limited people who can fix the problem.
