On average, cats spend 2/3 of every day sleeping. That means a nine-year-old cat has been awake for only three years of its life.i
Unlike dogs, cats do not have a sweet tooth. Scientists believe this is due to a mutation in a key taste receptor.
When a cat chases its prey, it keeps its head level. Dogs and humans bob their heads up and down.
Female cats tend to be right pawed, while male cats are more often left pawed. Interestingly, while 90% of humans are right handed, the remaining 10% of lefties also tend to be male.
Cats make about 100 different sounds. Dogs make only about 10.

A cat’s brain is biologically more similar to a human brain than it is to a dog’s. Both humans and cats have identical regions in their brains that are responsible for emotions.

I have a few horses and a couple pigs with the addition of the few hundred chickens I have.  I guess you could say I am a bit of a farm person, but I love to make money and these definitely make money for me!!

I didn't know cats can make 100 different sounds. It seems that they are more talented than dogs.

I didn't know cats can make 100 different sounds. It seems that they are more talented than dogs.

I am not petless.  My last per ran away!!  No I am getting ready for a large move across country and I had to part with my loved pets.  I will miss them, but they would only be locked up inside an apartment all day with my new job.  I could not do that to them.

I have a pet skunk.  It is more like a cat than you would think.  There claws are a bit more dangerous than what a cats are, but as long as I keep up on them, they stay happy and are pretty friendly.
