Sandy's pretty much done, it's left rain and snow and nothing else. Thanks for joining me as I covered Hurricane Sandy
I've read all of your updates, that was so crazy. Thx for telling the progress. I was just thinking about what if we could donate in bitcoins, their sponsor site seems to be down. I dun get it. How can they claim to send "100% of donations to the Red Cross" when they'll have to exchange it for USD with a fee in order for Red Cross to accept the donation?

They mentioned that they will cover transactions fees, so I am assuming that is either bitcoin transaction fee or exchange fees.

Yea. Great info. Thanx Logan. Yep, fun to do. That was a close one. Whole thing has me thinking though. What if there was a Bitcoin Disaster Relief Fund set up specificaly to help organizations such as the Red Cross and help these towns rebuild. Not just for Sandy, but future disasters. It would put Bitcoin on the map. Just thoughts on the matter.

I can't believe it was snowing in Virginia. It's 70 degrees (21C) in Montreal right now. Usually it's the opposite.

Oh I know, I'm use to seeing snow here in NY - not in TN or WV.

I used to live in Brevard County, FL. I sometimes miss the ocean, but now I'd also miss the snow if I left. Hurricanes are different here for sure, but they still can be a big deal. Hopefully this one being frozen will slow the flow to the streams. These hills funnel a lot of water up to Pittsburgh then back down the Ohio river. It wasn't that long ago Katrina flooded my high school's football field with 6 feet of water. Oh, and it was 19 feet above flood the flood plain. If it warms up too quick we could be in for trouble.

Same - Titusville for 8 years before moving to Iowa, then NY. I think I'd like to say I've seen my share of hurricanes and storms, but none ever dumped snow. I was talking with a guy I use to work with and he said it hadn't snowed in that part of FL since like the 50s.
I suppose it really shouldn't surprise me since I come from the Upper Hi-Desert of Southern California where it's snowed the past five winters, but not before that since the 80s.

Intel was too early with "Sandy Bridge" chips. Just like Porsche with 911 model.

That's no worse then a nyc-based clothing company coming up with a "Sandy Sale". I was reading that many boycotted the store.

Good thing they've already moved on to Ivy Bridge then. Porsche, on the other hand...
