https://www.gyft.com/buy-gift-cards/walmart/

You can now shop at Walmart and pay with bitcoins using Gyft. Unfortunately not with exact denominations.

Someone needs to create an app to be able to go into a store, type in the amount on your bill and get a bar code for the cashier to scan. This would probably be the best way to bridge the gap of stores accepting bitcoins if every store has their own gift card.

First seastead company actually selling sea homes: Ocean Builders https://ocean.builders  Of course we accept bitcoin.

Well this is nice, it's a beginning of something to start paying with bitcoins, even if it's only a gift card.
Too bad we don't have walmart in Europe. I wish this was available in one of the stores in my country.

I believe you can still use Overstock (general goods, similar to Amazon) or Newegg (computer hardware) if you are from EU. There are local online shops in EU accepting bitcoin as well.
For example Aria PC - Computer Hardware online shop in UK.

As far as I know, Gyft is a legit website. I never heard anyone has problem with their service, at least for me. Smiley

So far their service is very professional, fast and reliable.
Recently they got a 5M USD funding see
http://techcrunch.com/2013/09/25/digital-gift-card-platform-gyft-raises-5-million-series-a/

So yes, them scamming clients, wouldn't make investors too happy.
Also their team are public (real) persons seen on several (tv) commercials.
