There was a lot of improvements and new features since then , if you think you don't need them then you can stay on the old version without any issues , just make sure to always have your seed , in case something happens you can recover your wallet and get your BTC back .

Will there not be a problem with the 'lower S value' or something Thomas mentioned? He recommended that users upgrade to the latest version. I however also cannot upgrade as I use a Trezor and the latest versions do not have any hardware wallet support.

EDIT: Here's the post from Thomas https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1211122.msg12709831#msg12709831

Please do update, as previous versions create signatures with high S values, which are nonstandard now.

So the new version creates transactions which are not affected by the malleability attack, is that right?

I am facing another problem with 2.4.4, I hope the newer version solves it, when I am on linux machine and I import a new key, it only remembers as long as it stays on, after the restart the address is missing from the wallet? Any reason why is that happening or how can make it remember??

Any idea when we will have Trezor support back in Electrum?

If I have to update it will mean that I can no longer make use of Electrum as all my wallets are Trezor based.

Isn't the Trezor support not working only for Windows binaries ? If yes then why not simply use Linux (Ubuntu) or something else as Dual boot and you are good to go without any issues .

Update to the latest version, and open an issue if that bug is still there.

wouldn't just backup up the Private Key be enough.  anything goes wrong with the old wallet, can't I just import the private key to a new wallet and everything would be ok?

If you mean upgrading from one version of Electrum to another then all you need is the seed of the wallet. With the seed you will be able to restore the complete wallet should anything go wrong.

Just backing up one private key will not help if you want to restore the complete wallet, it will just help to restore a single address.

Its your wish until the software force you to update to the latest version. Tongue and newer version will have some bugs fixed with lot of improvement.

I already did on Windows, will update on the linux machine and see if it's still there or not. Thanks

Edit: the problem is still there on Linux machine with the updated version and I have opened a bug report.

I think if you use a server which is using bitcoin core version 0.11.1 when sending the transactions with electrum, it should still be fine.. Not sure about this cmiiw.
