Are you telling me that those starving people in Africa can't put away $10 a month for bitcoin? they have access to internet cafes and can easily open an account on some kind of future exchange. in a few hears, there will probably be cards or paper wallets issued with the private keys, that can then be redeemed when necessary. maybe that's the reason why so many in the third world are poor and need access to banking services -- to promote savings and investment habits.

i think what we need are PR people in places like africa that can visit communities and teach the locals about the benefits of bitcoin and how it can help them. for just $10 a month, they can watch their investment grow; this can save them from poverty.

Unfortunately in those types of places where people starve, there are priorities to solve before investing in cryptocurrencies. It is well known that in those places there is an absolute lack of basic infrastructure that impedes the adequate supply of goods and services, and most of the time those are remote areas where local bands dispute the control of territories, and these armed conflicts are often more destructive than poverty itself.

That is why your simplistic remedy to poverty in Africa does not apply in this case.

After reading this, the scale of black market and digital economies and the effect Bitcoin will have on them I am pretty certain we are going to be very wealthy men -- even with a sum as small as 10 Bitcoins. It's just so hard to believe. We are only in the beginning storms with these significant rallies from 10 to 20 dollars. I will not be surprised to see prices from hundreds to thousands in the coming months.

The world just isn't going to be the same and we have been blessed as the pioneers.

What are you going to do with your Bitcoin wealth once your coins hit upwards of $10,000 a pop?

Confirmed, getting the RWDS all geared up and we're headed to Disneyland!!!

There's nothing wrong with borrowing to speculate in bitcoin as long as you are prepared to possibly pay off a dead horse. There is nothing wrong with speculation as it provides liquidity to the market. Speculators provide information and get paid for it when it is good information. They lose money when they provide bad information thanks for attention

Even though I haven't much of Bitcoin here in my wallet, but I truly believe and grateful that we in our country today are the pioneers of Bitcoin users. If you are going to look back the time, those who sold their Bitcoins back then because they lose faith are now regretting why they even sold their Bitcoin and not hold them. But it is never too late for us. There are still left Bitcoins to be mined. We still have a chance. One day we all are the new generation of elite. Smiley
Yes, I do not have enough BTC stock. However, the benefits of higher prices are indeed evident. The investment in BTC and ICO this year even surpassed the sum of my income over the past five years. Thanks for the blockchain world.
When the price of BTC reaches 10,000 US dollars, I think most ALTCOIN prices will reach a new height, including some outstanding ICO will be more sought after. Grin

With my national currency rates, if the price of Bitcoin can reaches $10,000 in next time, I will become the billionaire haha. I did'n think someday, I can become the billionaire because there is no career appropriate for me. I tried a lot of fields and lost all. But with Bitcoin, I am sure I can be rich through it.

Perhaps this is especially true for those who were successful in entering the bitcoin world at an early stage. It is true that the doors are still open for those of us who have just joined this booming economy, but current conditions make it a bit more difficult to access large amounts of bitcoin as before.
it may be that, but most people who use bitcoin are still trying, as for that success because they try earnestly, without any tired though.
so we should not be surprised if the person who bothered it was a success.

Gentlemen is a gender neutral term in the context of this thread.     Wink

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

OMG! This post was made almost 6.5 years ago. Had anyone said back then that Bitcoin would reach prices of $10,000 per coin, then he could have been branded as a lunatic. And I am sure that 99% of the holders in 2011 didn't had the patience to hold on to their coins for six years.

Yeah 99% or even 99.9%, that was the point of my post earlier that was taken too literally. I hope those guys back in 2011 made a shit load of money anyway. But still must be hard to swallow if you sold at $1000 when the price reached $10.000 a few years later.

Let's look at the present... and the future. And see what year 2027 says. Please quote me in ten years time Smiley IMO price will be either zero or above 100,000.
Not an advice, just my personal opinion.

I have been reading this post for more than 5 years, and it never stops to amaze me. Such a pity OP was not registered at the time, and therefore anonymous. It would be fun to hear a comment about the prediction becoming almost confirmed as price approaches the $10.000 "a pop".

If you had really been reading this thread for more than 5 years, at some point you would have realized that OP only became anonymous after he was banned.    So he was not anonymous at the time of posting the OP.  His user name was Atlas, and some folks believe that he was a bit unstable and suicidal, so it is possible that he is no longer alive, even though he was pretty young at the time that he posted the OP.
