I foresee a future where various corporations start using Bitcoin's ideas to issue new types of 'provable' shares. This renders naked short-selling practically impossible, giving those corporations a competitive advantage against Wall St dinosaurs. Bitcoin's exchange rate could increase somewhat as a result of trading said shares. However, what's stopping such shares and other novel currencies from being exchanged directly on new trading platforms?

Interesting idea. Is there a thread where you expand on this?

As I admire some of your passions that you guys have for Bitcoin, investing everyone dollar you own/make into Bitcoin could leave you in a very bad financial situation.  If I can pressure you to not do this because I already pay enough taxes and I'm sick of paying for Welfare cell phones for undeserving fucks!

Do a percentage of your income.  You could relate this percentage to what you would spend at a bar, or would you normally invest in your 401k or into stocks.   That money isn't really needed to keep you alive right now.

Like 20days after the OP's post, we saw the peak of the first bitcoin bubble.

It's pretty easy to spot irrational feeling-driven investing like this, and I make a habit of shorting them (got short on apple recently at $702 a share when everyone was advising me not to)...

When I told my wife I was going to buy bit coins she was highly skeptical.  Then the next morning I sat down to look how bitcoins had done and my wife asked me what I was doing.  I said I was checking how my investment went and she started to say she was still skeptical.  I interrupted her with "it made us $700 dollars overnight"  Her skepticism disappeared completely.  Grin Grin Grin Shocked Shocked Shocked Tongue Tongue Tongue

I just hope nobody's life or relationships were hurt when they poured money into something they didn't understand...

Every time this thread reawakens, it seems to be a good sign that a short-term rally has topped.

Kinda looks like it...but now it would be nice to discover the opposite thread, which when reawakened, marks a short-term bottom!

You could simply manufacture it. Something like: "Damn, gentlemen, it seems we've wasted 4 years of our life on BS!"

That would be pretty insane to see BTC climb to $10k a piece.
But, it's certainly another thing when you don't tell all your friends about it and ruin it for yourself.
I have all my BTC into LTC right now, but I'm going to push it all back in BTC soon to come.

If there was a site for BTC like litecoinglobal (that isn't going to shut down after a month or two), we'd be in business.

Let's make some bot to keep this thread alive forever (by means of a post every few days), so it no longer indicates anything Tongue.

I see, you think Atlas was/is a bot ... now that would explain quite a bit.

I just get such a kick out of this thread title and OP every time it re-surfaces, such moxy, it's great ... dreams are free and BSing at the top of a rally is hilarious.

Edit: an uncle mantis appearance would be the definite sell signal here, that guy might be doomed to be the contrary indicator extraordinaire of the bitcoin world.
