There will never be a big crash ever again unless we experience a massive bull rally that makes us go from 1000 to 10000 […]
Every time in history when majority of people & experts believed that only in very strong circumstances there will be a drop back and unless this circumstances will come there will never be a big crash, guess what … it came a big crash. The higher this gets, the more fragile this is and the more sensitive everything is reacting to "bad" news … Just my 2 Satoshi. //alex This is not a high yet.... We have some ways to go through the last ATH and then an order of magnitude higher before I would consider a crash.. If the crash is premature then this isn't even time for the bull run yet.... It might go sideways for awhile before making another big run upwards.

Agreed. I'm not expecting a crash yet either. I was just playing the augur as I read "it will never crash" which is -- if predicted by the majority of the people -- always a sure sign it'll happen soon. But you are right. We are far away from this yet as the majority is not yet in. But if your shoeshine service is giving you the hint to buy BTC it's a great time to sell as fast as you can //alex

We made new ATH in many currencies this month, like my worthless Canadian dollars. IIRC USD and CAD were relatively close to par in 2013, but we are around C$1350/BTC right now with USD 975/BTC. Perspective is important.

While excessive euphoria can indeed persist for a longer period of time before a market correction it's a clear warning sign that buying panic is at work and people may engage in leveraged positions which are a perfect setup for violent corrections. On the other hand a possible argument against an upcoming crash is the notion that the Bitcoin ecosystem has become much bigger in the last months and that this forum is no longer representative for the general market mood. ya.ya.yo!

Perspective is very important, I like your moonero avatar btw But realistically I don't consider this a proper bull run unless it goes exponentially higher than all the previous ones, for me that would be.at least 2.5x more than last time but probably 5x would be more likely to be considered an. Order of magnitude larger If we hit 1000 and fall again to 800-900 we will have to regroup and break the records in 2017 which I'm happy enough to wait for... We have all the new markets in all the major countries so less than 2500-3000 would be embarrassing after 2013

Unfortunately I don't have very much bitcoin right now so I don't know if I qualify. It's going to take me a long time to get 10 bitcoins if ever.
Well if you are distracted by alt coins, such as Zcash (as suggested by your user name), then you are likely going to take a lot longer to accumulate BTC, such as 10BTC, if that is a realistic goal for you. Get focused on BTC, and maybe you can figure out a strategy to accumulate BTC in the coming years - maybe even to be able to accumulate 10 BTC if you can maintain some focus.
|
1) Self-Custody is a right. There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted." 2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized. 3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Are you currently putting all your money into bitcoin? If you say this, you show you believe it by your actions. I am putting all my money into bitcoin - I see a possibility of $50-$100+ per coin this year. Just think, once the "bankers" and hedge funds find out about this, we are going to the moon. Once my bitcoins are $1,000+ I will be able to pay off my growing college loans and maybe get an apartment, and my first car It's so risky to put all eggs in one basket. True, but in 2011 when that post was written the cost of bitcoin in fiat was much less that today! I don't know the amount of BTC he has or if he still involved in BTC but his dream is about to come true In terms of financial success, guys who invested in early 2011 or before had many opportunities to have their dreams come true with considerable exponential growth... if they had enough balls to invest enough money to get 10k coins or more...and to be able to hang onto those coins. In early 2011, BTC was less than $1 per coin.

http://astrohacker.com/ahc/bitcoin-is-the-economic-singularity/After reading this, the scale of black market and digital economies and the effect Bitcoin will have on them I am pretty certain we are going to be very wealthy men -- even with a sum as small as 10 Bitcoins. It's just so hard to believe. We are only in the beginning storms with these significant rallies from 10 to 20 dollars. I will not be surprised to see prices from hundreds to thousands in the coming months. The world just isn't going to be the same and we have been blessed as the pioneers. What are you going to do with your Bitcoin wealth once your coins hit upwards of $10,000 a pop? You had one he'll of a prediction buddy, if you would have accumulated at that rate by now you would have been crazily wealthy. I really wished had collected few coins that time and now sit back and watch it grow. If I had grown rich with Bitcoin would prefer to have 50% used for charity work. Rest 30% for me. And with 10% I would fulfill someone wish to go around the world. But it's never too late let's hope we all will rich.

Early adopters can definetely say that, those whk had kept the coins are part of wealthy elite now. I'm not sure for the rest of us, now it's much harder to accumulate larger amount of Bitcoins unless you are performing some illegal activities. Maybe if price goes crazy up and then just a few Bitcoins would be enough to get rich.

This was posted on 2011 so fast forward right now in 2016, OPs guess is pretty accurate . If some of them really keep their bitcoins up until now then they are probably get huge profits from it . As for us who just started, There is no guarantee that we wil get lots of profits for the upcoming years but the chances that it will happen is high that's why I will hold my bitcoins .

I believe that some of them are already millionaires and some of them arent. I guess I am out of their league of elites since I only have 0.06 btc on my wallet. My only chance to be part of their group is when bitcoin reaches 100,000,000 $ each in the market. If that price is the price now then I am a millionaire already. But that is possible maybe 10 years from now so I will hold more satoshis so when the time it reaches that price then thats the time I will spend them.

Well, experts say that the bubbles happens only once. Remember the dot com boom of the late 90s? Those who invested in stocks such as Dell, Microsoft and Cisco got as much as 200X and 300X profits. That was almost two decades back. The stocks are still there, but they are no longer giving those sort of returns.

1. Considering current BTC adoption worldwide, which is around 0.001% of all population. All people dealing with BTC nowadays are early adopters. Even with the "price" of $1000 per 1BTC. 2. If BTC is going to be global currency, some simple math:
- approx. amount of all FIAT money in the world = $75 000 000 000 000 - max available amount of all BTC = 21 000 000 - potential highest value of BTC, if it replaces FIAT (never to happen) = $75 000 000 000 000 / 21 000 000 = $3 571 428 per 1BTC
Actually that number is irrelevant. With wider adoption BTC won't be usable unit for regular people, it will be mBTC, later on μBTC, later on nBTC, later on pBTC.
So yes, if Bitcoin is here to stay, all early adopters (including those buying today) are the new wealthy elite.

Good time to dig this old beauty out. Stay calm though gentlemen, we've all made significant money HODLING over the past few years but let's wait until we obliterate the ATH. I'm talking multiple thousands of dollars per bitcoin before we get too excited.
We need strong hands, do not sell everything yet.
We can never know if that will be the case a few years later, we cannot hold the bitcoin that much, the price of the bitcoin now the best opportunity that we have , if we hold any longer the price might go down and it will take another 10 years for it to get back the way it is now, but this is from my own personal vision.

Well, experts say that the bubbles happens only once.
You are obviously putting excessive trust in the wrong 'experts'. Bitcoin has _already_ experienced several bubbles. You can't meaningfully apply lessons learned from the stock market to Bitcoin - cryptocurrencies are an entirely new asset class. Their existence -- and consequently their behaviors -- are entirely without precedent.

If you refer to single stocks then you or these experts might be right. But overall they are provably wrong. It might be that there is no second .com bubble coming -- maybe, future will tell. But this was not the first new economy bubble. With every new revolutionary technology, there was a bubble, e. g. the railway bubble 1873. Or how about the mortgage and real estate bubble in Japan end 80s? Almost the same happened again 2008 in US and later in Spain. Probably again in other countries due to extremely low interest rates since years. And Bitcoin is completely different than the old fashined stock markets. We've already had several bubbles in Bitcoin. //alex
