Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

A single BTC would need to hit 100,000 USD for me to become rich. Unfortunately for that reason I think I missed the boat, too late to become rich from BTC. Making 200 grand would be lovely though.

http://astrohacker.com/ahc/bitcoin-is-the-economic-singularity/

After reading this, the scale of black market and digital economies and the effect Bitcoin will have on them I am pretty certain we are going to be very wealthy men -- even with a sum as small as 10 Bitcoins. It's just so hard to believe. We are only in the beginning storms with these significant rallies from 10 to 20 dollars. I will not be surprised to see prices from hundreds to thousands in the coming months.

The world just isn't going to be the same and we have been blessed as the pioneers.

What are you going to do with your Bitcoin wealth once your coins hit upwards of $10,000 a pop?

Hey, mate! Your prediction seems to be quite accurate six years after! As you can see the value of Bitcoin now, it is almost reaching $10,000. The value for two days in a row rally between $9,100 - $9,990. I cannot wait for it to reach this high to prove itself really worthy of all our investments. Well you know, I do not want to be so greedy about this but I am just so happy this is becoming our reality. I hope we continue to rise all the same.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

You seem to be engaging in the wrong kind of thinking.  If you want to become rich, then you invest in items that you believe are going to appreciate in value and you do not overinvest or leverage because you don't really know for sure, and if you keep dollar cost averaging into bitcoin, then over the passage of time, you will accumulate more and more bitcoin which will likely cause you to become richer and richer.

There is no need to compare yourself to others, but instead develop a plan that is tailored to yourself and your circumstances and attempt to be prudent about following your plan and revising it and tweaking it as your circumstances change with an ongoing goal to continue to reasonably accumulate more and more BTC.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

This was one of the first posts I read here on bitcointalk and I signed up a few days after this was posted.
Now six years and five months later it has come true.

Sad to say that I sold some for pretty small amounts along the way here, some in the single digits, some in the double digits. But then none after that because I realized that someday the $10,000 dream would come true. I bought back a bunch in the hundreds and have held since. I regret not buying even more before the runup but I was weighed down by student loan debt and being a relatively broke medical resident.

Still, even with what little I managed to buy back in with, I am far ahead of the financial goals I had set for myself, over a decade ahead.  I don't think I'm anywhere close to the "wealthy elite" because I just didn't buy nearly that many, but maybe in another 3-4 years I'll join that club, which is something that was completely unfathomable before.

Too all the newbies...buckle up, it might still be a bumpy ride in the next few years but don't stop believing, and don't panic on FUD and sell like I did, it'll be the worst kind of regret.

We did it gentlemen, we did it.

As someone who was involved with Bitcoin when this post came up I will say that I have joined the wealthy elite (whatever that means, I believe I have achieved it). This week is my first week of retirement and I will be moving to Tahiti for bigger and better things.

Congratulations to others that have stuck around for so long and ensuring that the bankers will have some competition in the land of the wealthy elite.

This is gentlemen!

I'm believe if five months ago I bought bitcoin with all the money I had, on this day I would get double the profit. Unfortunately at that time I was in a difficult economic situation, so I can only see. I will use the bitcoin advantage to start a new business.

I just had to say how amazing it is, years later that your post has come to exact fruition. I'm happy to be in the shadow of the elite.
