The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I am not confident or pretty - I am not wealthy - I'm definitely not a gentleman - and the only "elites" I have ever had any dealings with are these :-

Hundreds of thousands of Dollars for most, millions for some except a handful that is sitting on 10m$ or more; it is something but we are not there yet; when the price will be a few thousands Dollars in 2015 it will be great, the sentiment will be very positive again and we will get massive exposure

What makes you think bitcoin will be a few thousand next year? I think many people said it would be at that this year.

A lot thought it would go to a few thousands Dollars this year and it didn't but next year or possibly the year after, the market will understand the FED is not going to decrease the 4.5trillions FED balance sheet and raise interest rates because if it did the market would collapse and the government would have trouble financing its obligations so the FED will launch QE4 and we will have massive inflation before they raise the rates; the economical environnement in the West will be very toxic, fiat will be discredited to investors that are not invested in BTC but not too far away from the Bitcoin phenomena and the price of Bitcoin will soar to a few thousands Dollars, Gold will rise up in price as well

I try to hold some BTC, but I'm so OCD that I just can't sit on them.  I have to exchange them for other cryptos.  So far it hasn't worked out for me that well.....but I hope it eventually does.  Just need that 1 big score.

Edit: I just realized I sound like a drug addict.

Hold onto your BTC.
Long term hoarding is the only way to make big money now unless you're mining.

All other cryptos aren't worth shit.

I am not only holding my btc, but also mine them using cloud mining, and I started buying more since the price is very low. I believe that the price will sky rocket once bitcoin get international recognition and more people start using it. This will take time, maybe 10 years, but it will happen and when it does we (the first investors) will be the richest people.  Wink

If it is going to take 10 years to become the "new wealthy elite, gentlemen," then those of us aspiring for such status better have some decent will power and patience to be able to hold onto our coins for such an extended span of time.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

These things tend to happen gradually. It will not take 10 years.

2-3 years TOPS, probably more like 1 year.

I think that is a reasonable amount of time to wait to be rich Smiley

Also gives you time to stock up on as many BTC as possible Smiley

I think the pretty confidence is becoming poor confidence..bitcoin need not go to moon anytime soon but atleast it would be better if it stays in the logistic trendline( 600$ as of now) predicting to go to one milllion/btc within 5 years.

Edit: I just realized I sound like a drug addict.

I am slightly OCD. I was able to sit on my coins during the November 2013 peak by having them in cold-storage. Too much "work" to spend them. Even foiled a scammer that way. (The extra steps gave me time to think: wait, I still don't have any contact information (that I had specifically requested)...).
