I wanted to invest but I red that the wallet is very risky to use? Many people lost all the money, is this true? How can I save IOTA for years without risk

This information is just FUD. I have been storing my IOTA since more than a year on the wallet and nothing bad happened. A lot of people are misinformed and spread there negative opinions. If you deal with the topic you will see it is just FUD. But if you are wary about using the client then wait until the new Trinity wallet (it is in its final development stage) was released.

Trinity is more user friendly then ?   That alone would be something to be bullish about as the vast majority of users are just casual consumers of crypto currency rather then especially clued up on the internal workings of what makes blockchains especially different to anything else I think.
Thats a plus and a negative, theres a burden on developers to round off the sharp edges to prevent people accidentally screwing things up.   I do think crypto in general wont go far without passing the drunk test, ie. just how bad or good is it for people paying for their drinks or meal while drunk when out on the town.
The banks themselves are in this kind of APP market trying to encourage people to pay with various convenient methods.  Of course that side is FIAT based and I really want to see a super easy crypto standard that cant be screwed up by putting a dot in the wrong place or pressing the wrong button in haste and paying a $600 transaction fee like I read one charity did after receiving many donations to its wallet

I have 0 in my wallet! where did the coins disappear ?

As explained many times, there was a snapshot. You need to download the newest wallet version, enter your seed and generate a couple of addresses. Then your balance should be appear again. Read the official news in order to stay up to date about such developments.
Thats the nature of success, people wander into this who are only half interested.    Some of them are intelligent and can self navigate eventually and some need a warning sign every 5 metres they venture Cheesy

I got a few questions.

  • What is the current transaction speed for IOTA?
  • Is it possible to have large scale instant transactions on IOTA?
  • I read that the transaction time will decrease with more users, why is that and how many users do IOTA need to have instant transactions?

In principle, a good service in my opinion. You can use it if there is no better alternative.

Sincerely I hope IOTA does well but the fact their light wallet doesn't even have a seed generator boggles me.

That's because they are different only in the last trit. This is how it's supposed to work, there must be the 3rd seed leading to the same wallet.

Some questions. I wanted to invest some more money into IOTA and just forget about it.
If I store them on a Wallet can I let it untouched for 2 years or need I to do something after the snapshots?

Which wallet is the most user friendly untill now?

In this case it isn't a really good idea to forget about it two years, in the past it was already necessary to update the wallet until a specific date. If you invest in IOTA you should follow this topic or check at least every month.
I just know the official wallet.

For the wallet: https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases
Trinity wallet will be much more user friendly, but it hasn't been released yet.

For that first question: You don't have to do anything after a snapshot. The first time you enter your wallet after a snapshot, your balance will show zero though. But you can just track your balance via the explorer and don't have to log into the wallet. It's no necessity to see your balance in your wallet for your IOTA to be safe in the Tangle.
Leaving your IOTA untouched for 2 years and not following the development AT ALL can be dangerous I think. Since IOTA is still under heavy development and nowhere near the final design, there might come a time, when you have to take action.

Maybe CfB can give some better answer Wink

Then you're better of investing your money in some other project, where you don't have to check once a month for important updates to make money.

No, it generally isn't a good behaviour to store any crypto currency on an exchange. If the exchange got hacked or fails in any way your cryptos are gone. So move them to a local or paper wallet. Be your own bank  Wink

There is currently only one IOTA wallet which is usable and it is provided by IOTA dev team https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases
The most complaints and issues users reported where related to a snapshot and a kind of hard fork last Autumn. They were literally not related to the wallet itself. Nevertheless, the wallet along with IOTA itself is still in early beta stage (or even still in alpha). If you want to have a fully stable wallet, wait until Trinity wallet was released.
