Following is the adress I obtained at the genesis time:

AUCUSILSKJJJHBKIZZT9ZEBVWXPYBZDBLOWN9QRVIODMWKPAJLWZXPAFT9WCRDNIZUADNMNPZJLUDWS SY

It contains 80 304 iotas.

I think you should help me making the re-claim. I have given money after all !

If you tells me that those iotas are lost, then the word "dishonest" is justified. And it is not a good start for your project!!

You are not alone https://forum.iota.org/t/snapshot-validation-period-9th-june-2017/1497/33

From the informations I gathered, you should :
- send an email to david@iota.org with "manual claim" in the subject
- Your message should be short and contain your initial seed (the one that correspond to AUCUSILSKJJJHBKIZZT9ZEBVWXPYBZDBLOWN9QRVIODMWKPAJLWZXPAFT9WCRDNIZUADNMNPZJLUDWS SY) and a new address (for which you have a seed that remain secret).
Ask for short reply as confirmation (not sure you will have one).
ok I shall do that. Thanks for your help.

I've just tested 2 light wallets (other on remote desktop) and got terrible experience!
First, if it send, it takes like a minute minimum.
Then there's 100% CPU hogging and nothing more forever (until I close the wallet).
Then there's "confirmed" 0 value transactions?!

Did you connect the address in the wallet to the tangle? Otherwise, your payment won't show up. Second: having to give some CPU power is what this coin is all about. You are both sender and miner in one.

Just to clear this up - you don't have to attach your address to the Tangle in order to receive a payment.

Hi guys. I purchased IOTA in September of 2016 and I just tried to access it with my seed for the first time since then but it says 0 balance. I am using iota_2.3.0_amd64.deb in lite mode. Someone suggested trying to produce many new addresses. I have produced and attached 54 so far but still 0 balance. I will keep trying. But in the mean time, what else can be done?

Thanks to anyone who can help and I will be tipping anyone who is material in helping me resolve this issue.

*edit* Oh and I don't have my database information any more. All I have is my seed. I thought that was all I needed.

You ve missed the second claiming phase which was automaticly and isnt possible anymore, you ve to contact David on slack, all you need is your old seed.  Good luck with your IOTAs, great investment!.

So than there is no worry that I have lost my funds. Thank god. It was not a trivial amount. Cheesy

Is "David Sønstebø" the david that I am looking for?

What do you think, how will IOTA be doing vs Byteball?
Or are they non comparable?
^THIS is a very valid question, and I was hoping someone would do all the work and forge a comparison chart/graphic with actually useful information, not like the data below.

It seems as though both projects are almost using the same graphics and concept for the Tangle, or whatever.

One difference is that there seem to be 10 times as many Iota than Bytes in existence/total supply.

As for value, if we look at the market caps:
   2,779,530,283 mIOTA
= 2,779,530 gIOTA
to
255,492 gBYTE

 2,779,530,283,000,000 IOTAs
to 255,490,000,000,000 BYTEs

Quote
Bullshit Speculation Section:
If the iota market cap was equal to byteball, then one gIOTA would be worth 0.024BTC
66694/2779530=.02399

If the byteball market cap was equal to iota, then one Byteball would be worth 1.73BTC
443090/255492=1.7342

that is a ratio of 1 to 7.2 ... idunno what exactly this means. b/c i lost my train of thought.

current market cap ratio is 1 to 6.6

so guess we could expect gBYTE to come up to 1.8BTC
or mIOTA to plummet to .000023BTC (less likely)

One thing i LOVE about crypto is that it is novelty incarnate. There is NO telling what will happen until it does.

One common problem affecting both the projects is that the word "Billion" means a different amount in American English, and International English. So that is why Giga- prefix is used. Just too bad they are not both measured in gigs.

Byteball still need Transaktion Fees its more a Hybrid between Blockchain and DAG.  And thats the reason why its not efficient enough for IOT in terms of Transaction Fees.

This article might be helpfull to understand the diffrences.
