Is there some reason why Bittrex is ignoring this coin? They don't usually require an invitation from the dev to add a coin. They do it on their own accord. Something must be wrong that Polo and Bittrex are both not adding this coin after such a lengthy period of time in the markets.

Bittrex asked recently at Twitter if there are new coins to add
https://twitter.com/BittrexExchange/status/878289303779946497
so just suggest IOTA there

Poloniex seems to refuse popular decentralized coins (e.g. WAVES) strictly, because this could be the downfall for centralized exchanges in future. But I guess they nevertheless can't stop this trend. Fortunately. At the moment Poloniex demonstrate impressively that centralized exchanges are anything else than the future. Roll Eyes

would be nice if everyone suggest to add at bittrex.

I hope somebody with a Twitter account posts about IOTA there.

About Poloniex, well censoring WAVES is only hurting their case. They are showing all of us why decentralized exchange is the need of the hour. No single entity should have the monopoly to control the crypto market.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I'm here for the first time, even though I have heard of Iota before. Now I read on the first page that it is still possible to claim Iotas until July 2017, but how? There is no indication and the provided link leeds to nowhere.

hi

i dont understand what is equal at 1 miota ?..1miota = 1 btc o?

1 kIota = 1 kilo Iota = 1 000 Iota
1 MIota = 1 Mega Iota = 1 000 kIota = 1 000 000 Iota
1 GIota = 1 Giga Iota = 1 000 MIota = 1 000 000 000 Iota
1 TIota = 1 Tera Iota = 1 000 GIota = 1 000 000 000 000 Iota
1 PIota = 1 Peta Iota = 1 000 TIota = 1 000 000 000 000 000 Iota

abbreviations:
1 kIota = 1 ki
1 MIota = 1 Mi
1 GIota = 1 Gi
1 TIota = 1 Ti
1 PIota = 1Pi

There is ~2.7 Pi in circulation

the current price is  0.00017 Btc / Mi

note that the smallest unit traded on Bitfinex is not Iota but Mi which is confusing.

the numbers have a different look

btc has got 8 numbers after the comma (at right, as usual)

iot has NO comma (a decision by IOTA)

so if you want to see btc = iot
you have to see this:

btc 1.00000000
iot  100000000

in short, 1 btc is 100Mi of iot

Whats the usual timeframe from PENDING to CONFIRMED?

depends on the state of the Tangle. Usually <5mn but can go up to 30mn and more. Next software version should bring improvements on this.
nb: you can monitor this on iota.cool

Nope Smiley I'm here for the first time, I though maybe there had been some airdrop linked to BTCs or whatever. If that refers to the ICO, I won't investigate further on the subject. Thanks to all for the answers.

Hello,

I don't see on github (to download the IOTA WALLET) any SHA256 checksum ? Is there one ?  Undecided Undecided

It would be good if we can check the integrity of the IOTA wallet before installing.
