According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

When can we expect that news? Then you’ll see a price correction:-)

Have you read those posts from those links you have posted us here? Seems like there was a bug within wallet itself, but tangle was okay and it seems to be fixed. Which mean there shouldn't be any more future problems regarding this issue. Please read and understand what are you saying before pointing fingers at devs. IOTA is still in BETA from my knowledge so invest visley if you are going to invest in it. Yes, unlike you i have read and faced with many unresolved issues. So as " IOTA is still in BETA" i am wanna know what upgrades occur to it. Or because " IOTA is still in BETA" investors have no right to ask any questions?

I have the new wallet, I am still however waiting on a confirmation to get my IOTA back from a snapshot. I think that this is ridiculous, I am waiting months to try and recover funds - how can this project ever go anywhere?

There was time to do it and IOTA has informed about the issue well. If you have an investment in a project you should follow the news about it if you care about your investment/money. IOTA is not that simple tech as the blockchains that is why it needs several steps including two reclaiming phases. Now the team is waiting until more security relevant steps are done before the distribution of the non-transitioned funds are conducted. If you would follow the information closely you would know this and you would not complain about things which are clear already. And maybe you should be thankful about the slow process. The price has risen sharply. And is still going up. If you would have the tokens earlier, you would have probably sold at much lower prices

One of the fastest growing coins. I wonder what future awaits her in the new year? Does it make sense to buy it?

The latest wallet is good. After downloading it and just inputting the seed could see my balance so they seem to have fixed it. The coin's potential is now being seen hence the price is going up and 2018 hope it goes to 3 digits

Do you guys think there will be some kind of correction soon? The growth is ridiculous. A month ago the price for one iota was about 0.3 - 0.5 $ and now it is spiking already at 5,7$. This is crazy.
Although the price has leapt, it will leap higher after this Btc correction. you do not mind that the coin in sixth place in coinmarketcap.com by capitalization? And what would be done at least X2 in it should be very serious injections, at least a serious corporation, and even a few!

The way this is looking I will never get my tokens back. Secondly, Does anyone else not get the complete farce that this is? Blockchain technology is supposed to be immutable - not some database where "Brad" back at HQ can fiddle with the server to mess with someones balance. The fact that someone can do that makes everything else about this technology laughable - and IMO and price spike will be short lived until the money figures out the joke. If this was a proper company there would be a class action taken against them, or the management would be investigated by police for fraud. There is no other blockchain coin or token that I am aware of where the devs can simply reach in and unanimously confiscate your funds.

Wrong, blockchain and Tangle technologies are about enforcing a consensus. The snapshot that enables "Brad" back at HQ to "mess with your balance" is first proposed to and then approved by all the network nodes, they obviously can't just take your tokens deliberately. It would be the same as proposing a fork with different balances in a blockchain-based coin: if the network approves it, it becomes law and it is the code working as intended. As someone told you already, do not invest into something you don't even take the time to study and understand (and if you don't get the distributed consensus principle, you are also not getting how any other coin works).

Has anybody lately tried to withdraw iota off an exchange? Does it still take around a week?
I tried yesterday to send a transaction between 2 of my own adresses, still not confirmed. Does this depend on the amount that is sent?

BUY HODL.... and chose your LAMBO colour in 2018 Q4 I think you meant later this afternoon. someone shill me on IOTA real good, a good writeup article or something. I was playing with numbers and was wondering how long it'd take something to hit multiple trillion marketcap, -- next thing I'm reading https://medium.com/@peterryszkiewicz/iota-price-analysis-and-predictions-1a5855a7c36 --- "If we use our liberal multiplier of 552x, we get a price of $552 — $2760 per Miota and a market cap of $1.53–$7.67 trillion!!!!!! Keep in mind, these are the liberal estimates and could take some years to come to fruition.". ---- "some years": opinions?

It's going to keep rising until it eventualy pops. Then the select few surviving coins will fall to almost 0, then rise again. Trillion market cap? Perhaps in a hundred years only if it truly gets adopted as payment system for most things. Right now there are so many IFs through that long term thinking is closer to playing the roulete. My horizon for all crypto-investments is in months, with one hand on the sell button at the first sign of trouble. Hopefully I won't get caught in the squeeze Those who traded other bubbles in the past know exactly what I'm talking about. The rest will be more prepared next time
