I'm starting to think that it may take some time before this project sees $5/ coin again.   May be time to exit and put some more into other projects.

Don't draw that conclusion yet. You see how crypto market is these few weeks, it not only this one every other coin out there is facing it.

Good morning,

I am searching for the following “token distribution” data:

Initial number of tokens: token distributed straight after the ICO? I found the number 999,999,999... is that correct? Or was it just proposed number and final number is higher?

Circulating: token in circulation now? Can I rely on data from CMC? In many cases number from there differs from official source once I contact them directly.

Total: total amount of token (maximum supply - burnt tokens)? Is following correct... 2779530283277761?

Also, can you please advise how much money in USD was raised during crowdsale?

I looked all over internet and your official channels to find those stats but it doesnt seem to be out there.

Many thanks,
Pete

Post about changing the supply:

https://forum.iota.org/t/iota-tech-update/264

according to icostats.com USD $ 434.511,- was raised during ico.

The big hoax is 'reputable' people from academia calling it a big hoax, it's that simple, Carlos Matos isn't the only crypto comedy açt, check out Matthew Green.

I think IOTA still need to provide a simpler illustration of how the Tangle really works, the past set of illustrations are not so satisfying. It looks just like blockchain for now, still yet to see what differentiates it from blockchain from the illustrations and videos, apart from word on paper.
What have you been looking at that makes the Tangle seem like a blockchain? It is a completely different approach to verifying transactions. Here are some videos you may find useful: https://coinscabin.com/videos/iota/.

I'd say the layout of the network does look alot different.   I think its alot less formal or even centralised to power then bitcoin.    I have watched before some of these videos, https://youtu.be/I_jNH9BlEEo?t=488     So its still under beta with COO at the moment

Im still not clear 100% on its operation and weighting, it seems more real world then BTC though https://www.sales4k.com/blockchain/iota-vs-bitcoin/

This picture I think sim of IOTA unfolded on my pc ages ago, I saved it.  Your welcome :p

it seems getting ready for another run? Price is  very stable at 1.99 to $2.01. Time to put some more in to it before it goes up anytime now.

iota shows an example of long-term investments. as in the Safinus project, you can put an iota in your portfolio

I took a step back from iota for the last 2 months. Has anything major happened recently? Is the coordinator off already? That was the biggest turn off for me at the time (being 100% centralized).

Hi all.
Which wallet do you guys use and which one is stable to use where the IOTA coins wont disappear from it?
I read a lost about peopled having issues with the wallets for IOTA.
Thanks!

The IOTA wallet is not very user friendly compared to other wallets (non iota). Also your balance might appear as 0 and you need some manual actions to recover from that shock and see it is still in the tangle.

I would either leave the iota on the exchange (has some risk) or accept the features of the current wallet or stay out of iota.
