I understand it's still early into the preseason but Knecht has been showing that he's a bucket getter and could be a huge boost for the Lakers bench, Lakers struggled a lot last season to find offensive fire power beyond, AD, LeBron, Reaves, and occasionally D'Angelo Russell, so having an extra body on the bench that can help gets buckets of the bench would come in really handy for the team.

It's the same with the Japanese player with Memphis, point guard Yuki Kawamura and he is really that good. However, we are not sure if he can have a spot as this pre-season, mostly they like to expose not their stars and so Dalton Knecht has been given that exposure and the good thing is that he takes full advantage of it.

But not sure if he will be given playing time once we are are in a full mode regular games. It's totally different, it's Lebron and AD's team and then they have a lot of good players as well. Maybe he will be given time to play but I don't expect him to be a regular.

Yup, same with Yuki he's providing decent numbers when given that chance to play though we can't tell if that same treatment will be provided once the regular season begins. Knowing that those stars who eat a lots of minutes when playing they might get those chance and if they continue playing great they might be consider on the set rotations.

They need to showcase everything even in practice so they'll be able to established that trust and not just for some games but will be a usual practice then they've got a chance to play.

The kid has a lot of potential. He'd be a good go-to-guy for the Lakers in terms of 3pt shooters. However, it's a bit difficult for him to shine and become a superstar with LeBron and AD being in the same team.
Well,I hope the Lakers would keep these young talents they have as preparation for rebuilding when LeBron retires and when AD decides to leave.
I personally think, if the Lakers stays healthy and be more consistent this season, they'd be once again a playoff contender, not a team who's going to struggle to get a guaranteed playoff spot again.

I think that he's got the Austin Reaves vibes and he's got the potential to be next star if he plays consistently like that in the regular season. I guess that even with AD and Lebron, Rui and Austin, CWood, he'll get the playing time that he deserve and JJ would also recognize him. Although it's true that with crucial times, it might be few times that will be entrusted on him. But he's still young and he'll be developed more with the team. At least right now, the Lakers was able to get him and he's on them.

Yup, that is true. The playing minutes that he'll get and hopefully that it will be all in fairness to him once the regular season comes. He's very like a rising star in the making but we'll see.

I just read a statistic that said the NBA MVP award hasn’t been won by an American born player in over 6 years and that seemed kind of wild to me. This would have been unheard to think about in the days of Michael Jordan. You can literally see the rest of the world catching up when it comes to basketball skills.

No clue but the kid was nice in the preseason.  Definately had Ja smiling.  He is small out there but it didn't matter he is silky smooth in the pain dishing it to the right guy at the right time.  Dude has a crazy good basketball iq from the small amount of time I watched him.  Maybe he has his own insanity run one day lol.  That was a fun time.  Was battling kobe at the garden.  Calling his own game winner against Toronto lol.  Hope the kid makes it.

I remember that it is because of these three - Jokic, Giannis and Embiid. 3 MVP awards for Jokic, 2 for Giannis and one for Joel, and this has started since 2019.

He brought home a win, secured overtime, put up huge numbers, lots of highlights, and he made Bronny James look terrible. Lakers fans everywhere already falling in love with this kid.

^^ I don't know if we have to believed a curse, but we have seen the start of Clippers with CP3 and Blake and DJ but it still feel short during that era. And probably that was the closest that they can get to a championship team. But after that they got to rebuild again with Kawhi, coming from a championship stint in Toronto, however, his nagging injuries started to show and up to know we haven't seen Kawhi's contribution to the Clippers. Now they let go of Paul George already and teams are loaded with superstar and yet they can't get over with the playoff. Maybe they will have go rebuilt again and let go of Kawhi if I'm Ballmer. He has spent too much money and yet they can't see the results in the last 4 years or so.

I said that it was a "curse" because they're making bad decisions over bad decisions over the years. I would say that it's a "metaphor", but you get what I said on that one.

Anyway, one of the worst decisions that the Clippers did is to give Kawhi an extension while they didn't give PG13 a new contract just because they're afraid that it will put the team to the 2nd apron. I get the idea that they don't want to sign PG to a max contract, but the Warriors did want to get him in exchange for young players, picks and some players as well, but the Clippers decline and instead, they let PG go for NOTHING. That alone is a bad decision already for them.

I agree with what you said that they need to rebuild, but the problem with the Clippers right now is that THEY DON'T HAVE ANY PICKS for the next years because they've been added to the OKC-LA trade that involves PG13, and in that package, that includes SGA, Tre Mann and J-Dub plus 3 future picks as well. Imagine the Clippers giving away the 1st and 2nd option for offense of Thunder now away for basically nothing because in the end, they gave away the player that they traded for it.

They're screwed, and they're screwed for the next 3-5 years just because they can't rebuild, and they will stick with the same roster for some time... at least unless they will trade Kawhi and there will be a team that will get him, but I doubt it will happen.

Yeah, exactly. They’re probably just trying to stay flexible so they can make sure to lock in their top guys like Jokic and Murray with the max contracts they deserve. Bronny James had himself a game today.  Finally he got to silence some haters.  He put up 17 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and a block.  He had some decent highlights too.  A pretty slick layup between two defenders (while he had two open guys on the wings) and he also caught an alley oop.  I still don't see him getting a lot of minutes during the year if he even stays on the squad, but it's nice to know he is capable of putting in some good NBA minutes for the Lakers.  Hopefully he keeps getting better as he gets more comfortable out there.

I won't be surprised if that happens, Aaron Gordon is one of the pillars of the team that's able to help them get their first chip. They should spoil him with the max contract that they can give to him because he deserves that. It's obviously that he's one of the biggest help in the team. Maybe they're all going to invest more with Jamal and Jokic which doesn't look fair when he's one of the big three in the time. But anyway, maybe he's foreseen this already and have got some plans already on how he's going to adjust if some teams need a big man like him, he's very athletic and efficient under the rim.

Probably we can compare it Klay Thompson's case, although he got offered by the Warriors as reported during the start of the season, he declined the offered because he doesn't like he and most likely he is also looking for a max contract.

Gordon may not really deserve nearly 40 million dollars a year though, so there is a rightful reason for not offering him maximum contract. I do agree them putting that money up for future success reasons, but 40 million-ish type of money for Aaron Gordon makes no sense to me, he doesn't deserve that much.

About 30 million would be ideal sweet spot for both sides, a bit less than 30 would be amazing for the team. He is making about 20 million dollars right now, and asking for more, at his age, is a lot to ask for just because the team is doing great. We all know the team isn't doing great because of Gordon, if they lose Gordon then for 20-30 million range they could get someone else.

But Gordon knows they can't get that from free agency and would need a trade. I believe him getting 20-25 range would be the best case scenario for the team as well. There is no room for emotional reactions in business, look at Klay Thompson, dude was amazing for many years and was one of the biggest parts of Warriors having these rings, the moment he became bad, they just let him go.

The Celtics waiving Lonnie Walker already is a bit of a surprise. I wonder what’s going on there. Just a couple of weeks ago everyone was praising Boston for making such a great pickup and now they’re letting him walk away. Given his skill set, I think something out of the ordinary must be going on with Lonnie Walker.
