Curious to know if Magic will not fail on this and for sure they might encounter a salary cap issue in future due to this huge contract they give to their star player.
This isn’t something new, we’ve seen many players get massive contracts only to underperform or miss time due to injuries. In fact, if I remember correctly, Durant was given a huge deal by the Nets even though he missed an entire season. So if we’re looking at this from a gambling perspective, it’s definitely a high-risk move. But the difference here is that Banchero is still young and not injury-prone, so in my opinion, it’s a gamble worth taking. Banchero deserves it. I also think that it's a gamble for the Magic but they shouldn't let go with their key players, he's also now one of the faces of Magic and that's why he's deserve to get that max contract. I agree about Jalen Green's playoffs performance. He was simply terrible. Only in 1 game he looked impressive and that was all. Maybe he isn't the man for the highest stage or it is just because of his still being young. In this trade between Suns and Rockets I just believe that Rockets is in profit. Getting Kevin Durant is worth it. Maybe he is 36 years old but still can play as a superstar. Logical trade to play bigger for an NBA championship in my opinion. I want to see Jalen Green's redemption if ever he's feeling bad about this trade.

In the latest drama. Jokic has informed the Denver Nuggets that he will not be signing an extension with them. That basically puts them in a situation where they have to trade him and will start looking at options now as his trade value will only decline from here. I think he’ll probably play out his current contract either way and then sign where he wants to be as a free agent.

Denver Nuggets would be very dumb if they're looking to trade him rather hold talks to have him back through the free agency. Except, I'm missing actually getting something wrong here.

Paolo Banchero signed a 5 year max rookie contract extension that could reach $287,000,000! That’s crazy. I haven’t seen him play much, but I had no idea he was going to be getting that kind of money. I think the NBA might be broken. Fans can’t afford to see games and mid players are going to be billionaires. Apart from the games he missed due to injury, Banchero had a pretty good season. Considering he's the franchise player for the Magic, the contract he got is reasonable. With Wagner and Suggs, Magic have a young core. They can build something on top of that. They may make the play-offs again, but I don't think they can seriously challenge for a top 4 spot in the East right now. I don’t know if 60 million a year is reasonable for anyone who isn’t a household name, regardless of how good they are. I think it’s a larger problem though. Before it was players like Jordan and Shaq who were going to be billionaires. I bet there are probably 20 guys playing now who will be billionaires, and more than half of them probably couldn’t be recognized by a normal person on the street. I definitely agree with you on that. I don't think anyone will recognize these players. I don't think there are superstars in the NBA like there used to be, we used to watch real superstars and we really enjoyed it. Most people knew most of the players in the NBA, but now, I don't think so. But look at the money they make.

Yeah, I never expected that when I saw it. But it should be like that for players too, not just franchises, business is business. The report I read says he’ll earn more if he waits until the summer of 2026 rather than signing now. It’s either they pay him more and keep their championship-contender status, or they let him go and save money but lose that status. For me, he deserves it. He’s been dominant over the past few years, always gives it his all, and his stats improved last season, averaging a triple-double. Plus, he’s still very durable at 30.

Right, it's just about normal, there are players that don't want to sign for a extension with their current team, despite them being their franchise or they are one of the core and key player. And the reason is that they wanted to test the free agency and see what kind of offers they can get outside of their current team. And knowing Jokic an him probably seeing a lot of players getting huge contract, then maybe that's what he is thinking right now. He should be also that kind of mentally, getting $250 million or more. So it's up to the Denver management on how they will treat him, or what does Jokic will do in the next season. If he had that another MVP season and leads the team to the finals, then he deserves that huge pay. If not and Nuggets felt he didn't deserves then they might go on a separate ways or even negotiate first.

Everyone talks about Lakers and such trades. I feel bad for the OKC. They've been the champs for the season. But after that, it didn't last long and the talks and attention went through the trades that are happening now. They're champs but the celebration didn't took long and the attention that it lingers to most fans didn't last as well.
Same thing happened with the Boston Celtics before. Bronny James' draft got more attention than their championship. Well, people are more interested in drama, and there’s a lot of unexpected trades happening right now. Just look at what the Rockets did, trading Jalen Green for KD just to go deeper into the playoffs. They also traded Cam Whitmore, and now KD will wear jersey number 7. I don’t know if that’s the reason they traded him. LOL. Then there’s the Bucks, who waived Lillard, and surely, more trades are coming. That's true, I remember that last year. When the Boston Celtics got their chip, their hype being the champs was quickly gone during the draft. And that's because all eyes were on Bronny James being drafted by the Lakers and not even the first and second pick. Who were the first and second pick, last year? They were even forgotten and no longer known by most fans because the highlights of the media is really depending on who's getting more the attention.

Dwight Howard’s new wife of 6 months has filed for divorce from him. She’s seeking 50% of all his assets and spousal support…. after six months… It will be interesting to see what she ends up with. If Dwight Howard didn’t have any sort of prenup it is possible that he just lost half his fortune for 6 months with a woman. Wild.

It’s dumb for him if he didn’t have a prenup considering that he marry his wife recently. NBA star should learn to protect their own asset that they earned without this woman on their life. There’s a lot of gold digger clinging on NBA players so prenup should be a must since the woman shouldn’t have problem on it if she really love Dwight because financial support is obligated by the law. I wonder what will the court solition to this obvious gold digging.

Putting them on the map would be winning a championship. He hasn’t done anything yet.
In other dumb contract moves… While trying to buy out Bradley Beal’s nightmare contract and having just gave away Kevin Durant for scrubs, the Phoenix Suns are trying to one up themselves by extending Booker at $75 million dollars per year. A reward for him never winning anything… The NBA is lost.
Honestly, Beal and Durant made sense, for a team that wants to tank, it's obvious that they are doing terrible and with all of their players they still failed to make it to playoffs, so tanking makes sense. Beal contract would be over by the time they tanked and got some picks and rebuilding, and Durant is out, plus Green is young, so that made sense just a bit. So I am supporting of all of the moves they have done thus far and that wasn't really a bad thing at all. However, we are talking about something that is way to bad for them to get Booker 75 million, that is too much per year, that is not the amount he deserves at all. We need to make sure that things are not going great for them, but that is not easy at all for them to tank with this salary. They should get rid of him somehow.

Yeah, it's obvious gold digging, and Dwight might have that prenup and so he is the victim here, nevertheless, let's hear what the court says.
Not sure if this has been discussed here, but Normal Powell has been traded by the Clippers to Miami and send John Collins to LA. I guess there was kind of like a meme of Powell being better than Paul George as we all know that Paul didn't resign with the Clippers. But I guess Powell might have been a liability for them although he is a good scorer, but they have Harden and Kawhi already. And John Collins might be a better fit for them as they needed a big man and a player that can play solid in the middle. And in this trade, it also includes Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson to the Utah Jazz.

And he should have known better, I mean he is a famous sports athletes and so they will be the target of this kind of women. Maybe he was blinded and thinks that she is the one. But the women should have other plans. And perhaps this was really the plan after all, now Dwight might have to lose a lot of money with the divorce and the woman getting half of his hard earn money.

Yeah right, those folks was forgotten though I still recall who got th ROY award during that season a back to back award for San Antonio Spurs after Wemby won the 2024 then it was Castle after, just like what you've said it was the media that will put up the news and whatever and whoever they are hyping the attentions will be converted and the fans and all those who are interested with the topic will surely got hook and begin to share their opinions.

They are enjoying the short time glory they get for winning the championship but at the end those big market teams still enjoying the limelight especially that they are the one who usually get lots of airtime or exposure from medias. I guess they would just name as defending champion next season and nothing will happen since fans would provably feel excited about new added players also other controversial situation happened on on their favorite teams especially on Lakers.

Haliburton has also opted out of the 2025-2026 season. The Indiana president said, "We can't sacrifice Haliburton next year. Haliburton will rest next season because he fears his basketball career will be over if he plays before his injury is fully healed. He had successful surgery. I hope this injury doesn't end his basketball career early. Everyone has shown how important he is to Indiana this year."

Booker's contract is still acceptable, at least he delivers on the court. The Suns actually need to get rid of Bradley Beal and his absurd contract. If they can trade him as well now that Durant is gone, they could create some space in the salary cap. That way, they could rebuild the team around Booker. They don't have an easy job either way, though. There are so many good teams and they don't have much chance to compete. Suns just need to find players like Caruso, Dort and TJ McConnell that do their job efficiently with 101% effort on both offense and defense without thinking about their personal stats on the game. These players are low salary but high efficiency on their game. Suns has better chance to build a good roster around booker by looking for that kind of potential players on the rookie that typically being trade by team for old player.

The Oklahoma City Thunder signed Chet Holmgren for 5 years and 250 million dollars max. It's really unbelievable money. I still don't understand how they pay these money to these players. I don't think he deserves this contract. Let's see how long we will see such big contracts.
