Considering how he moves for a big man he will surely suffer an injury frequently just like Davis. This is the downside of having a large frame that can’t absorb his movement since normally a big men like them should move slower and less active.
I’m surprised that he is still correcting his diet despite this is his issue for a long time.
Pelc should give him ultimatum if they want this kind of player improved his diet.
I think they are not yet into that phase which they are giving him an ultimatum since maybe if they do that it will add up some stress to their star player. But rather they are motivating him to do more better, but I think Zion is close to be traded especially if he still fail and get injured this season. This is what I don’t understand on Pelicans management, they are paying 39M to Zion which occupied most of their salary cap while they can’t control him properly by a simple good diet which he is struggling for a long time. Sticking to him in long term will surely make Pelcs always on the early exit on play-offs due to their struggles on getting more W during the regular season. Pelcs can use his salary to build on new potential players considering that their current roster seems like still on building stage. Luka done this within a year tho.

He meet the expectation of people and his injury issues is something like big troubles that need to deal with by his team. Zion's work ethics and condition has been criticize for so many times, but it seems that he didn't care about those things and didn't try to improve.
Maybe he became another wasted talent in NBA since he didn't live on the hype he created ever since before and looks like he might failed then became just a regular dude in NBA. Lebron is one of the kind and provably its so rare to find another talent that plays the same level as what he can provide.
No he didn't meet the expectations the people need or you probably just mistakenly wrote it. Well, it was evident in the early years in his career that he doesn't have any work ethics but I think his management should have motivated him or they can't bend his habits. It's too early to tell but if he cares for a ring like what most motivated players should aim then he needs to work for it because it wouldn't come to you as if it's that easy, it's not.

He’s still averaging pretty well even if he doesn’t play much, it’s just that he lacks discipline. His rebounds and assists are fine too. Honestly, even if he never gets a ring because he’s in the West, he could still be one of the best players right now if he were more disciplined. Maybe that’s why the Pelicans are still taking a gamble on him, the potential is still there. Even if he ends up on another team, he’ll still earn a decent salary.

Well the injuries also had a lot to do with Zion's body weight. So yeah, if he can maintain the weight he has not there is a big chance of not getting the same injuries again. Hopefully it's not another case of a nice summer just to basically fall apart again during the season. He never looked as skinny as he is looking now, but he definitely looked fit before just to be, some months later, back to his original weight. It's all about mentality but since he has shown in interviews that he is quite happy at the moment I have high hope for him to finally get on a better path now!

Zion could last longer in a season but he doesn't even come close to taking care of his body. He has all that extra weight destroying his joints in his legs. Losing weight is only 1 part of the journey he needs to complete to even think about being active for a whole season. He needs to hire a fitness coach as well and get his muscles into shape. Look at Lebron James and how long he has been in the NBA. He's over 40 and still dominates, why? He spends over a million dollars a year on his body. https://lakersnation.com/does-lebron-james-really-spend-1-5-million-per-year-on-his-body/Whether the number is true or not, the point is he does spend a large amount to get in and stay in shape. Zion probably spends $5000 on his body and it's not on fitness or exercise, it's on cheeseburgers on some dumb shit. I don't know how much Zion loves fast food and how often he places orders like Big Smoke at the drive-thru, but the fact is that his injury proneness is related to being overweight. You're right that it puts a lot of strain on the legs, especially with such a busy schedule as in the NBA. As for LeBron, it's worth noting that it's not just how much a player spends on fitness, proper nutrition, trainers, etc., but above all, discipline and motivation that matter here. The issue with giving an ultimatum is these players have a huge sense of entitlement. They basically coach themselves and do whatever they want. Let's say they say get healthy or we are trading you, Zion is gonna say fuck you as he knows someone will pick him up if his contract expired or multiple teams would show interest in a trade. If he didn't get injured every single year, there wouldn't be an issue.

Trail Blazers' Scoot Henderson tears left hamstring, will miss start of seasonhttps://www.nba.com/news/trail-blazers-scoot-henderson-hamstring-injuryPortland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson tore his left hamstring this week and will miss basketball activities for four to eight weeks, the team announced Friday. Bad start for the Portland Trail Blazers. 4 to 8 weeks. Maybe he will miss 5 to 10 games. Well, they have Dame back and the addition of Jrue Holiday. They are actually looking like a strong team this season with so many guards who are really good at their position. Then, there's Yang Hansen, a star in the CBA, 16th pick in the 2025 NBA draft, and I do hope he will showcase some of his talent in the regular season. The Trail Blazers ain't looking that bad anymore.

Well, I thought for a moment that he will be the "Ben Simmons 2.0" where he will hype all of the fans out there, but when the regular season comes, injuries will come and will prevent him from playing. This time though it's different. Yes, he might've hyped his fans especially those Pelicans' fans for the past few years, but his mentality like you said is different now. I guess the fact that Joe Dumars and the management really trusted him made him realize that he needs to change something for the betterment of the team. Nowadays, if you're franchise player only played around 45% of the total games that he can play, they will trade him immediately, but not in his case. They trust him, and expecting that he will make a change for himself especially his diet. Anyway, his next 2 seasons after this 2025-2026 season isn't a guarantee based on his contract so he needs to step up or else, he might become a free agent next season.

But it is being address and he is gaining back what he has. he will play healthy and I wish it will continue and we can see how good he is and his talent. while on the other story with Ben Simmons, It is true that Injury stopped him on playing for a long time, but unlike other he babysit his injured. And now time passed by and he is far away from what value he has and its not coming back!

Damn, that's one of the most painful injuries, having a torn hamstring, and it's one muscle that most sports athlete really neglect and it should be warm up enough. I remember James Harden has this kind of injuries as well as Giannis. But in any case, as you have said, Dame is back in Portland and so I think as per my experience when Dame playing with them prior to joining the Bucks, he has a massive game wherein they were a huge underdog but was able to win. And as a gambler, I have some of those wins so I will look forward for Dame to bring that kind of games to Portland and us gamblers betting on them specially if they are a underdog.

If I'm not mistaken, it's inclusive in his contract that he shouldn't get overweight otherwise he might not get the perks included or the additional laid out in his contract. I think in the case of Lebron, yeah he is spending a lot in his body but I will say that it is also with his genetics that he was able to stay away from big injuries.
You can say that to even to John Stockton, who throughout in his career was not sideline by injuries. So there are also that factors that it's hard to measure as to why some players didn't get injured during their long careers but there are some that is very fragile.
It's all individual, because many factors can influence a player's susceptibility to injury. One of them is simply bad luck. Even a disciplined player who stays fit throughout their career can still get injured. It's obvious, but any player might suffer a serious injury just by slipping on a wet court or landing awkwardly on an opponent.

I've seen the latest video Zion looks the same, at least on the video, they always say he lose wait, and is good for the first few months of the season but after that he will get injure that i don't understand, this has been the issue every season getting injured mid season and will come back next season, they really should cut his weight its been stopping him for finishing the season, although the issue is why they can't manage it since its been always the problem.
I haven't seen the latest video of Zion, but I will tend to agree that he might have reach his desired weight already so no need to go down anymore as this is his fighting weight already. But in any case, it won't prevent him from getting injured. Just like in the case of Kawhi, wherein there was image of him having a huge and massive lower to compensate or help him not get injured. But still though in the last season he still suffered it. I guess there are NBA body that might not really build for long term. We've seen that on Greg Ogden or even a prime Brandon Roy wherein their knees cannot hold even if they have been operated. LBJ already debunked those claims https://www.si.com/nba/lebron-james-debunks-popular-theory-spending-1-million but he really take care his body and result he made a great ROI for his longevity in NBA and making lots of money. It seems that players in new era didn't have motivation same as MJ,Kobe and Lebron. It seems that they want to shortcut everything and want to spend more on other activities outside in NBA that's why they became so fragile and most of stars now are so damn soft.

Because they know some teams will go after them, if the team drafted them wants them out, the problem with that is the price for them will be low, unless they will make the new team give what they want, but other team learn their lessons, they will not waste money, if zion really want to last he will start treating his body like a temple, it will be a waste of time and his effort to make it to the nba ending like a bust, who will not last for 15 years in the league, and he is a no.1 pick it will be a talk of the town for sure.

It’s to resist cheeseburger if the crave on greased call him especially after the game or practice. Still kudos to him because even though he is already obese he can still have a monster game when he is on momentum. The problem is more on mental strength of Zion since discipline is very hard to pursue if there’s no pressure on him either diet. I’m surprised that Luka got traded quickly even though he is the main star and performing good just because for the same issue of diet while Zion still eat all you can on cheeseburger without any sign that he will be traded.

The only player that body is not built like LeBron or any top players, but is performing at the same level and not injured mostly of the season is jokic i mean look at the guy, don't have a six pack, but out performing the leagues star, just don't mention his horse and for sure he will go home, kidding aside, they should ask jokic what is his secret, instead of eating those cheese burger, if im his nutritionist I'll cook him corn soup everyday, not the corn soup in a pack, and let him eat lots of boiled corn, for sure he will be like pacman.

Zion not taking care of his body is a personal choice at this point, not some injury prone situation. Injury prone is when you do what you should and your body still can't handle it, which happens and we are all different people so it's understandable that some people may get drafted high and then be injured.
I remember very clearly Greg Oden getting drafted first, even before Durant, and yet Oden didn't had any career at all in the NBA, just played a few years and even then didn't play many games. He played a total of 103 games, and left the league after only 3 seasons, to be fair he was in the NBA for 6 seasons, but did not play in 3 of those at all, not even a single game, and played 103 games in the other 3 seasons. That dude was injury prone, Zion is not, Zion is just fat.

Yes, it could also play a role, but let's say we removed bad luck out of the equation, then we can say that generic has something to do with it. If you have a good DNA just like Lebron is, maybe his tendons and muscles are really solid and attach to each other, and then he has the money to throw and invest on his body, then that's what we are seeing in him right now as he was able to stay 20+ and continuing and still on his average ppg without any deterioration in his game. And as for others who might had a bad DNA in them, they can't simply stand on the hard and pound of a 82 games. Like AD who are prone to injury and same as with Zion and other players in the past.

Those DNA can do some things, but as far as i know, most players are injured due to their routines, i can make an example for fisherman's who plays basketball, if you have experience to play with them, when you bump them guess who will fly you, their body were built different, its not the DNA its what they do daily, also they were running on the court every play, but their energy never goes down, meaning, if you are use to something, makes a lot of different, maybe players that got injured most often and star players are doing something more often than practice and play basketball, but Kobe Jordon and LeBron Stockton do lot more basketball thing, with health conditioning also.

Considering Blazers are already tanking, it's really not a big deal for them to have such an injury in the team. They do not want to win games anyways, they want to just get away with some bad results and a high draft pick this season that's all they want. So while injuries are bad personally, the kid is lucky because he can take his time, get better, and do not have to rush himself at all, he could even take another full month on rehabilitation if he wants and that won't be an issue. If we are dealing with better results, then it's going to be ok and not going to matter. We are not there yet, and we are not going to see huge returns at the moment, it's going to be something that the kid will comeback stronger from this.

I don't know if that is a good mindset in any sports though, to tank and not give all your got. This is NBA and it's composed of 82 games. Are you saying that they won't go hard this season and tank and be the worst team like the Pistons years ago? Pistons did tank but they didn't get any good players in the draft. So for me, I don't think that any team will have to consciously tank, they've got Dame back in their uniform, so it might be very different attitude since they've got Dame time and for sure Damn doesn't want to tank as well.
