Goodbye to the big three of San Antonio but they are now Legends. Hall of Famers which made a big impact on how a team play should be.
Defense then a higher percentage of a field goal after a good D.

This three made NBA look great. Of course it includes their roster. Horry, Bowen and so much more.
Yeah they are legends now. Duncan is the first one who retired and now Manu did retire now and after this season, I believe Parker will be retiring too.

The Spurs are reshuffling their roster now and they acquired new and young members in their team. I'm thinking how will DeRozan fit in their roster. Any ideas??

Well, DeRozan can create shot using the isolation type but it could not always go that way.

I do believe in Pops though. He could change the way that man play and maybe give him some courage when they reach the playoffs.
We know ehat happened with DeRozan at that time in Toronto where he was a little shaken.
Here he could take back what he had loss and maybe get to the Finals with his skills.

Experienced wise, coach Pop has all the tools under this belt to take DeRozan under his wing and blossomed him to be the next big player in San Antonio, he is young, very talented but lacks composure that separate him from being a elite player. Might take a couple of games for him to adjust, but I think he will do good under coach Pop and we don't know, maybe he can bring back the glory days of San Antonio again.

I do not think derozan will keep playing like what derozan used to play on toronto but you guys are forgetting one thing. Yes in 2014 when spurs won the title they played the best team basketball there is but two years ago spurs was heavily reliant on kawhi making plays for himself and scoring, last year it was mostly on lamarcus aldridge and his 1 on 1 with his defender on low block.

Mainly spurs is not playing the "beatiful game" we remember, they did turned to a more isolation related game, which derozan excells at. He might share the ball a lot more because its spurs, they pass more than others, however not like used to so derozan will be required to do ISO even if not as much. They do not have that many scorers on that team, this year they will only be derozan and lamarcus, anyone else scoring is just open shots, the ppg for all others will be low.

Actually I am kind of excited of their line up now.

New players and there might be new plays that we will see. But we can still see how Pops works on his plays. There might be some isolation for Aldridge but that is also the Duncan move which he already prepared a long time ago.
They are stretching all the plays they can get last year because of Kawhi's injury.
Let us face it too, Ginobili was not that fast anymore last year but he still did a great performance.

DeRozan
Aldridge
Mills
Gasol
Rudy Gay
and their #18 pick Walker
New acquired three pointer Belinelli.

Now they need a good 2nd team.

You need at least two or three superstars to win in todays NBA.   The days of a solid group of role players winning a title are long gone.  We won't see a nother team similar to the 2004 pistons for a long time.

To be honest, the NBA has gotten a lot less exciting because of the Golden State Warriors. There team is stacked to the max with all their star players and it's just causing other players to form their own superteams.  Everyone wants to team up in todays NBA instead of taking the difficult path.

For a recap, Golden State Warriors doesn't have a superstar when they began dominating the league until they get into what team they are now. No superstars at all. They all start from a scratch.

Meaning whatever trend in the NBA right now, no need for 2 or 3 superstars just to win a championship*. Yes having a superstar is an advantage but let's not closed the door that soon, some "team" will shine on it's way up bounded by role players.

I believed other teams are doing their best to revamp their respective lineup. Last season, Warriors also have a bad game during their Season games. Meaning they are not the dominant the whole season. They also struggles at Western Conference Finals, , meaning a team can matched them. A competition is still there and no such thing as Warriors owning the NBA.

That's the challenge for other teams now, show what they got. We just have to wait and see what will be the happenings in the upcoming 2018-19 season.

Agree on what you have said and each season we can really potentially see up some teams that might really show up on next years basing on their recent performances.I remember those days where Warriors doesnt have much that performance but they able to snatch out championship. Each team do have the chance and we do all know that the ball is round which anything can happen unexpectedly because nothing do really last on top spots even how dominating they are there would really be a time that a team can possibly break it up and this is what excites me on which team would kick out Warriors.  Tongue

And i don't think a lot of people gave the 2004 pistons a chance of beating a shaq-kobe led lakers that time but they did. The entire league was exoecting the lakers to overpower the superstar-less pistons. Who knows, we'd probably see an unconventional champ this time.

I can only imagine that being a Spurs fan this season is really tough right now aside from trading away their superstar even though they got a good player in return didn't relieve all the memories they have from Kawhi. Aside from that hearing the news about Tony Parker signing with the Charlotte Hornets is one tough blow to take as he has been the atarting point guard for the Spurs in a long time. And now the biggest blow the last of their original Big 3 will now be gone for his retirement, I think Manu really waited for this moment as his other teammates are now gone.

It's really for difficult a long time Spurs fan to see that the old Spurs are now gone. Honestly I see that some of the fans are still on a process of moving on when Duncan hang his jersey couple of years ago. And now Parker gone.. Manu retire... Kawhi Leonard supposedly the new face of the franchise but does have "personal reason" why he intend to left. Same story when Bryant left the league.

As a long time NBA enthusiast, I now understand the feeling of those fans who see the actions of the past era then as time passes by, the players are retiring one by one.

Just to lighten up the atmosphere around, anyone heard on this new NBA snicker policy?

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24507661/nba-loosens-color-restrictions-sneakers

Now, players are allowed to freely expressed themselves because the NBA has lift the color restrictions.
Gonna be interesting to see which players will have color palette snickers. hehehe.

Nice, it's good for the fans and most probably it will increase the market of the sponsors because it's not gonna a lot of sponsors who
will take this opportunity, they are in uniform but not with shoes, interesting. With a lot of news around the corner, I feel like the NBA will really start soon.

You are maybe right, this is the right timing for Manu to announce his retirement since his long time team mates that he considered brothers are gone. For me it is a wise decision on Manu's part since father time is slowly cathing up on him but sad for the Spur's fans to see their hero leave the sport.

I do not think derozan will keep playing like what derozan used to play on toronto but you guys are forgetting one thing. Yes in 2014 when spurs won the title they played the best team basketball there is but two years ago spurs was heavily reliant on kawhi making plays for himself and scoring, last year it was mostly on lamarcus aldridge and his 1 on 1 with his defender
on low block.

I am glad some people think like this and not just putting every blame on the Golden State saying they are all superstar that is why they win.
You will really see who is not a fan of NBA when they start speaking non sense telling it will be GSW again who will take the trophy.
So wrong. That team worked their ass off just to get there.

Houston did a great job. If only CP3 did not have that injury. But same with GSW they lost Iggy that time.

Boston also have a chance if ever they win against Cleveland. That is a team there. Young ones though. They need more experience.

Cleveland though, facing GSW. You can see the difference in the game.
Team play versus a team relying on one superstar which is wrong. Look at how Smith did so much errors. Why? Because he is leaning too much in Lebron's game. I am sure of that.

Let us stop saying GSW is impenetrable because they are superstars. They are not. They worked hard for it. They have weaknesses too. They just dont show it and still gives their best every game.

Exactly. They see Golden State Warriors owning the NBA now but for me, I don't see it that way. Even last year that was the expectation but look how difficult it was for them to reached the finals. Even the 6th seeded Pelicans snatched a win to them via 19 points lead during playoffs so it means that Warriors also have holes. And now with the addition of DeMarcus Cousins, people are freaking out that Warriors will be the next champion again. Yes it's possible but let's don't close the doors to other teams.

Dirk Nowitzki and Vince Carter are I think the next ones. They aren't veteran. They are now oldies lol. 40+ age.

Tongue
I agree that Warriors can be beaten by some team eventually but at this point of their careers it is more likely for the team to get parted with players because of contracts and insane amount of the cumulative repeater luxury tax. The team is paying insane taxes because of their players getting paid a lot and that is without Klay Thompson and Draymond green getting their max, if those players require a max than warriors will have to just let them go, whatever they pay them, it will be doubled and tripled by the cumulative luxury tax so they can't just give max and move on.

I do see them take cuts on their salary but for how much, I am sure at one point some other team will offer more for longer and they will have to disband. That is a much more likely scenario of how warriors not being as good than some other team eventually beating them.

I do not think derozan will keep playing like what derozan used to play on toronto but you guys are forgetting one thing.

Man DeRozan will be a huuuuge disappointment for the Spurs fans. Hope they can take it.

Another veteran retirement.

http://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/news/david-west-retires-nba-news-pacers-warriors-spurs-pelicans-hornets-xavier/h7rilycrr0tm1s33l1iow511q]David West retires after 15 NBA seasons

One of the good backup player of the Golden State Warriors. These guy have an overall 4 teams he played on his whole career and got 2 rings in his final 2 season with the Golden State Warriors (2016–2018). Unlike other players who earned their rings without effort*, we all know that West contributes much in Warriors so I will say that he really deserved those rings.

With the retirement of West, I think only 6 or 7 players remained now to that famous 2003-04 draft that is actively playing until now. If Im not mistaken.

One hell of a defensive player and also one thing that will be remembered from him. That elbow perimeter shot which he does perfectly without even jumping an inch.
I think that was just a tip toe that he was doing.
Somehow he create those shots with not much effort amd still get double digits with points and rebounds.
He will be remembered indeed.

15 NBA Seasons, 2 rings with GSW, 2 time All Star, one of Hornets early NBA stars, yeah one hell of a ride for David West. He also contributed a lot during his stint in GSW so I'm sure that they lost one valuable player in their rotation.

I agree with the elbow shot, I think he can do it with either hands as well.

And I still remember that "Kiss" with Tristan last year. Lol. Smiley
