I'll doubt if he will ever play right now for the playoffs with this recent news to him, that's very unfortunate for Denver if Jokic will not play for the season since he is the main factor for the team.

He still can, and other players who will going to have a positive results if the NBA will begin mass testing inside the NBA circle, they can still recover before the season starts.  I mean they have strong immunity, they can recover rapidly.

What other sad news is that, there are players who opted out not to play in season resume. Though, I understand and respect their decision, but this might be less exciting to watch with the incomplete roster. iMO, the team who'll win the title this year will be flooded with a lot of negative reasons.

Oh God! It's starting. We are going to see more in the upcoming days.

Jokic reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 in his native Serbia last week, delaying his return to Denver. According to Wojnarowski, he has been asymptomatic and expects to report to the Nuggets within a week.

So he is asymptomatic and I think many of them are.
They have healthy bodies and they don't feel the virus very much hurting their bodies.

It will be difficult to enjoy watching the game while some of them are missing.
Especially our favorite players.

Gobert and Mitchell had asymptomatic corona virus as well and this was during the early days of lockdown, hell they even had it when NBA was still going on. At the end of the day 30th is still quite far away and teams will fly to Orlando eventually (some time before I am sure) and everyone will be tested and they will be quarantined and they will be given whatever they need and eventually when they all get out none of them will be sick, the ones that are already healthy will be able to stay away from the virus, and the ones who are infected will be recovered as well.

However players are allowed to sit out, there is plenty of players sitting out already and I think if Jokic says he is sitting out because of this, that means good bye to Denver and their whole chance of doing anything on the playoffs this year.

I've stumbled upon this article on their website about the young players that will have impact whenever the season resumes. What do you say about this and I know most of us likes Luka but spare him and look for the other good young athletes.

It's Luka and Zion, both are great young players.

In the article, it mentioned about young MVP's under 25 years old, the latest was Kawhi Leonard with the spurs, a well deserved recognition that time but I don't think both Luka and Zion had a great chance of achieving that now since their respective team does not have a good ranking to win the NBA Championship this season.

That's my instinct and my opinion, though both players are exciting to watch, but their team is not a championship caliber team yet.

I hope I'm wrong as I want to see Luka to achieved another milestone of success.

It's okay if that's what you think with Luka and Zion. They're still young and this becomes a trend to most athletes that are getting into the league. That becomes a competition for them and makes them think that there's a need to improve so that they can get into the line and be proclaimed as one of the greatest at their earliest date of their career. I'm just waiting for the career of Luka to get into at the peak just like what we're seeing with our most beloved and liked players but it's to soon for him.

I think even with this news the NBA will still resume as per schedule, it's just sad that our of the star players of the NBA are tested positive, but Oasisman I agree with you, Jokic can recover and might be able to play soon. The healing the process depends on the immune system of the person infected, so I guess Jokic has a strong one and he will recover soon, probably before the playoffs start, that's my guess.

Yes it might, and it will not only hurt the NBA but it will also affect the profit that sports book are going to make if the NBA will resume.
I'm just saying my disappointment upon seeing the news, but you know, business are more important than lives for some, so I guess NBA will resume even if a lot of us will disagree on that.

It's actually sad but that is reality.
Most of them must be asymptomatic until tested.
If this grows in a huge amount of players being positive then we might not really see an NBA this year. I hope not.

Like I said, maybe most of them are not having the symptoms or their bodies can take it since they are all physically healthy.

It would hurt NBA a lot of there is no continuation of the season. Hundreds of millions USD lost, thousands of jobs, salary caps going down next year etc..so yeah, it would be pretty big hit. And current situation doesn't look too good, I would say that we are much further now from the July 31st than we were couple of weeks ago.

This list is just a tip of iceberg I am afraid, there will be much more players tested positive in the coming weeks. But maybe it is blessing in disguise, those players that got positive now will be safer later on, and won't get virus again. I guess it works that way.

I think all of these cases are starting right now because before these days players were let alone and just warned to be careful, there was nothing that teams would care about and since players were "at home" and not playing there was no need to rush them into getting better.

Now that we are starting up in a month teams want all of their players healthy which means they will start practicing and start training very soon and that requires players to get tested and the players who test positive would have to go home and not go outside until they recover (which they should have done already to not get it to begin with) and at the end of the day all of these players will recover in a month, recovery is usually around 10 days and in a month they will be fully recovered and not infected anymore and will be capable of playing without infecting anyone else.

With more players added to the infected cases of the CoVid-19, we cannot be sure if they really need to resume the season with this state or not. I think with this latest news, they need to have an urgent meeting to consider their decision because more players will be at risk. we cannot tell if they are not a carrier of this virus because some might asymptomatic all this time and they can only pass the virus to others. I think until they can find a complete vaccine of this virus, they need to suspend the game.

If I'm not mistaken, Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings, and Indiana Pacers are few of the teams that resume their practice in their respective facilities last month, with the exception of Jokic as he is on his country, Serbia. Although it's not a team practice (limit of 4 players on the court), still, some players exposed with the one who has a virus. Contract tracing will be tough.

To add to the list;

- aside from Sacramento King's Jabari Parker and Buddy Hield, their teammate Alex Len was also tested positive.
- Derrick Jones Jr. from the Miami Heat is the recent one who got tested positive to the virus.

I'm sure these players will be fine in a couple of weeks just like others NBA players who got cleared with the virus since the pandemic virus struck the NBA. Almost just a month before the NBA tip-off, for sure these players will be healthy.

But my concern is, will NBA still push for the resume if more players are tested positive (from those participating teams). I mean, obviously, teams can play without these infected players (considered as injury) however it will bring an impact on the overall team performance especially if the player/s involved is a star or good role player.

Vince Carter Announces His Retirement

Vince Carter, one of my early favorite players in the league and the reason why I always pick the number 15 jersey in some basketball league I've participated in the past. His retirement is expected this season. Lucky to have a chance to see him in person way back when he visits our country, fortunately, one of their events held on my Alma Mater.

He is receiving a standing ovation for 2 seasons if I'm not mistaken as teams thought that will be his last season, so at least he experienced it lol.

Most of them might be asymptomatic as they have a good immune system, but there is test that would determine if you have the been infected or not, that's why the list keeps adding, so let's just see how long this list will be and wait for the decision of the NBA.

As of now, there's no announcement yet whether the latest list of infected players would affect the reopening of the season, but IMO, they will  not get affected with this and they will go as plan.

One player who presumably won't be an option is free-agent center DeMarcus Cousins. The four-time All-Star suffered a torn ACL last August and was eventually waived by the Los Angeles Lakers to clear a roster spot.

Waived by the Lakers, if he plays, which team do you think he would suit this postseason?

Cousins already said that he will not be playing for any team this season and just going to wait out this pandemic playoff and he is going to see if he can land a team next year. Its still going to be very hard for him to get a deal because everyone knows how injury prone he is and any team that pays him knows that there is a chance that he will get injured and they will pay him for nothing, so he is not going to get a big deal. However I am sure he will get some offers even if its minimum or not and no way he will be out of the league this early, its just about who he will sign with. Wouldn't it be weird if he ends up signing with Kings again? They are doing very well thanks to the trade they did to send Cousins and if he goes back on Free Agency that team will be quite quite good.
