MISSION STATEMENT

Develop and make available Reading, Writing, Arithmetic and Reasoning programs based upon the Principles established by "The Radix Endeavor" funded by The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Gates Foundation. The use of computer-based gaming in education is not a new phenomenon. Many educators nostalgically remember green Apple II monitors displaying the games Lemonade Stand and Oregon Trail in the early 1980s. Technology in schools has evolved considerably since then, and gaming has become pervasive within all demographic subgroups. Gaming within education is currently a fragmented value proposition. Education games are inherently engaging to students because they present novel situations and are immersive. The authors argue that video games often do a better job of teaching than decontextualized, skill-and-drill instruction. Students can use educational games to engage in difficult tasks without embarrassment when they fail, and teachers can use educational games to build problem-solving skills and help students see the meaning in their lessons.


Statement from the founder:


It is my personal dream that one day a nine year old girl in deepest Africa can dial in on her cell phone and learn to read and write in her own language...and receive coins for her achievement. Thereby being able to purchase goods and services...and gain economic inclusion in her world.

This project will introduce AltCoins as rewards for achievement that are readily transferrable into fiat. Thereby, giving the student a financial incentive to move forward in the learning process.

WhyCoin was developed to reward students for "PROOF OF KNOWLEDGE", when they complete a course of study.  It will be a way of keeping score!

The coin is being distributed to people who have indicated their interest in the gamification of education and agree to participate in the goals of Why Fund Inc.

The initial distribution is up to five million coins based upon a strict criteria of quality participation on REDDIT and thereafter spontaneous awards for quality participation on https://www.reddit.com/r/whycoin/.

300 million coins were premined to establish a treasury of coins for future use.  275 million coins are in a cold storage treasury wallet...not staking.

Trusted Advisors

In the Bylaws of Why Fund Inc. there is a section setting up a group called "Trusted Advisors", they are allowed to only be identified by their user name (if they wish) and will be a nonvoting group. They may meet and formulate proposed actions by the fund and submit them for consideration.

They will be compensated with whycoins for their efforts.

They will be selected by the Moderators and only by the moderators. Their role is advisory.

The Moderators will have access to coins to dispense to those persons who they deem to have furthered the interests of the coin, or the fund.

A Brief History of Events:

I am Dusty Ridge the Founder of Why Fund Inc. (a 501 C 3 NonProfit Educational Institution) and WhyCoin an altcoin formed to be a tool to be used to further the goals of the Fund.

I spent the last year or so, trying to get established coins to move into the field of computerizing education.  I invested thousands of dollars in various coins and supported them vigorously.  However in each case I was used and abused, and lied to.  I finally reached the conclusion...it had to be done right.

I am 78 years old, and have a background in Ranching, Farming, Military, Police, Stockbroker, IBM Systems Analyst, Commercial Fishing, and Real Estate Developer.  I had the good fortune of dropping dead at 49, and being brought back to life.  That tends to focus ones mind!  I have been happily divorced for 46 years and have 4 children, three living.  I have A BS Degree from San Jose State and had the misfortune of studying law at Berkeley (I learned I didn't want to be a lawyer).  I formed a company in the beginning days of internet and modified the search engine (University of San Diego software) to use.  I owned 400 domains and averaged $30,000 a month in profit.  I sent business to a bunch of kids who were trying to do the same thing....YAHOO.I got wiped out of the business by them and Google...along with Alta Vista who was the king of the search engines at that time.  That was the "wild west" period of the internet.

The fund is presently controlled by the incorporators and we are searching for five directors with knowledge and a fire in their belly to take control!

The coin was launched from the Reddit site because it was not seeking to sell coins, and a friend helped me give a way coins.  He kept warning me we had scammers by the dozens, but I determined that even a scammer would keep his wallet open and establish the network.  I didn't realize we had one scammer who had dozens of user names and wormed his way into our confidence...he ultimately held 30 million of the 80 million coins distributed.  He grabbed the WhyCoin user name on every possible site on the internet and attempted to extort 50 million coins.  He was able to block us from making an ANN site, and even had us banned.  I am happy to report he has sold his coins to four GREAT people for the price of a carton of cigarettes!

The base theory of the fund and the coin, is gather a thousand like minded people together, and use "Crowd Knowledge" of a thousand brains to achieve the goals.  It appears to be working!

If something happens who will say the rest will be the dates announced first, So no one will do Pre-Anns.

This type of hijacking of accounts and coins will probably happen more often than not in the future.

As with any Announcement / New Coin / Reborn Coin / Forum / etc....   do your research before commiting resources.

I have done a fair bit of reasearch on the coin since a lot of little red flags were going off when doing the research.  I have to say that the developers and the Non-Profit behind this coin are very open, and easy to contact.  A big contrast from most of the activity on these forums.

We have started exploring Flash Card system to put on our server, and set up a reward system with WhyCoin.

The coin is supposed to be listed this week on an exchange.

People have been buying coins from each other.

The IRC site is a hot bed of positive activity.

And as I understand it 80 million have been given away free and 99.9 Billion are in cold storage. IS that right?
If so I take it when an exchange takes the coin that 80 million will be up for trading.
When do you start dipping in to the coins in cold storage?
