Legendary staff member has a rather sad ring to it. It already implies that you're gone, like the fast food worker who had a shotgun emptied into his face so everyone else could live.

Hey, will there be a (virtual) party when folks in this thread get their legenary status? I'd like to join :-)
Now that the forum has grown so old that many early members attain legendary status, there probably should be higher ranks for the really old farts!

A bare minimum of two and a half years or so I would've thought.

It's between approximately 2 years, 6 weeks and 2 years, 10 months of forum membership when you post on average once per day and post in every two-week activity period.
If you pause for some time or post less on average it will take longer, of course.

Under the assumption that each activity point has the same probability to give you the rank legendary, that there are 256 such values from 775 and 1035 and that it was predetermined and as such grows linear.

The chance for you to reach legendary on the next activity increase are:

Code:
name act	prob.
Master-P 826 20.31%
EAL 854 31.25%
Blazed 882 42.19%
Mitchell 896 47.66%
notlist3d 924 58.59%
defaced 966 75.00%

Edit: , and . notation
Edit2: Blazed

Lol, awesome. 75% chance you say. LEGENDARY GET!

I totally thought the same thing.

We're still in the waiting list. Smiley
There is not actually a waiting list to become a legendary member, you will become a legendary member when you have the random required amount of activity that is based on your UID and a secret hash.

Theymos has said that only two people have access to the code that contains the secret hash, and that he will never give it up himself. My best guess would be that either BadBear or grue is the other person who has access to the code with the secret hash, so in theory one of them could tell you when you will become legendary, however I would not personally hold my breath waiting for either of them to do so.
Would "Hero Members" be that much desperate to become Legendary that they would ask BaDBear about it?

It's probably because you're a ninja mod and the system didn't catch onto the fact that you were eligible to become Legendary until theymos added you in manually. Wink

I would have become a Legendary member by now if I was active since the time I registered. Did not know after getting 952 points (2.6 years approx) a member still doesn't get the rank.

Haha, brilliant.

You should all feel sorry for the lowly Senior Members like me. We're akin to a McDonald's worker with 2 stars on their badge or something.

We've just about been promoted enough so we don't have to clean the toilets any more Sad

I didn't think of it that way but that would be the way to go defeated by the spam but not without putting up a hell of a fight, looking at the titles I did make a mistake it would be customized to say Legendary Staff which sounds better to me if it was ordered in that way.

How long does it take min. to be legendary i think 1 year is not enough right?

A period is set in 14 day intervals one post needs to be made per period to be counted for the range.

775/14 --> 56 Periods --> 28 Months --> 2 Years 4 Months on luck is in your favor
Else/Or
1030/14 --> 74 Periods --> 37 Months --> 3 Years 1 Month if it hates you

Guys is it true that Legendary members earn 0.1BTC monthly by doing nothing?
And do legendary members get free hardware stuff because of the rank?
It simple does not make sense please check this auction here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1220114.0
I wish all of you will become Legendary asap, and i think that the UID doesnt affect the process of reaching the rank.

It's true that Legendary members can usually negotiate different terms for a signature campaign (more BTC, less posts, etc), but I've never heard of free hardware, lol.

I did that from time to time and IIRC so did Quickseller, probably even before they became Hero (confirmed below).

and i think that the UID doesnt affect the process of reaching the rank.

But the UID is the only thing that is different for each user in the code (see quoted above).

FYI - I have been able to negotiate custom deals for my posting when I was only a senior member Shocked

I remember when you got custom deal for your signature because of the good activity in forum, congratz.
The giveaways seems to be very good at that time for Legendary members, but now i doubt that anyone will do the same.
@shorena yes I've read the code but if we check defaced (UID is 5567) and dogie (UID is 87869), there is a huge difference in uid numbers, i mean in general (directly) does not affect, the uid isn't the main reason to become legendary.
