So coinbase closed my account for gambling...
October 30, 2015, 03:53:13 AM

I presume that's why.
I got a warning email a month or so ago...I had done a few withdraws directly to CB from poker sites. Once I got it, I did every single transfer through a middle wallet first.
I'm guessing the transaction behavior was what led to the closure since I never went directly to gambling from CB again (winning poker player...I would keep X amount in CB, when I won that amount in poker, I would sell it on CB and withdraw that amount from the poker site to my other wallet and then to CB)
What other sites can I use that are easy as coinbase? I could sell a bitcoin one day and the money would be in my bank account the next day with very low fees, less than 1%.
Thanks

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

What is it their business what you do with your coins as long as they get paid?!
It sounds that you have it linked to your bank account to be able to sell what you win. But still, they could say it is illegal activity if the amounts are high. Suspect of money laundering ? Can't see that as they see where the funds are coming from.
Is it in their TOS that gambling is not allowed using their services?

I tried to search if there's any rule about accepting payments from gambling sites, there's none but i'm not sure about their rules before we sign up if there is. I get my payments from Magicaldice through coinbase.

Coinbase does prohibit using their service to send/receive money from gambling sites, it may go unnoticed but when and if they find out they will close your account and this is not the first time it has happened. Here's where they mention these rules:

5. Gambling, except where permitted by Coinbase

You may not use your Coinbase Account to engage in the following categories of activity ("Prohibited Use"). By opening a Coinbase Account, you confirm that you will not use your Account to do any of the following:
3. Partake in any transaction involving online gambling except where permitted by Coinbase;

Right.
Thing is, they sent me a warning and basically just said don't gamble through Coinbase again. I never once sent bitcoins to or from a gambling site directly with Coinbase again. I went through the MyCelium wallet on my phone every single time.
So the only thing I can think of is the pattern of my activity. Selling X amount of BTC from Coinbase and then immediately transferring that same exact amount of BTC back into Coinbase from a different wallet.

hey thank you for the link and the warning, maybe it's time for me to move my coins somewhere else where payments from gambling sites are allowed to be stored and accepted.

I think the problem is your middle wallet. Coinbase tracked the coins going into your middle wallet and found they are sent from a gambling site. You could have used an exchange or a shared web wallet as the middle wallet. It would be more difficult to track your source of income.

Yeah, however they did but they did tracked it and if you had used some kind of mixing service in between this wouldn't have happened but even then Coinbase is a little anal when it comes to things like these.
You can search for exchanges here:
http://howtobuybitcoins.info/#
!/USD and see the one that suits your needs, or you can use an e-wallet service for gambling like Neteller, they allow BTC deposits directly and you can cash-out your winnings to your bank account or use their card at any ATMs.
Note: you won't be able to deposit BTC and cashout to your bank or ATM, but you can send it to Neteller merchants and online gambling sites. But there are a lot of traders here and on LBC who will easily buy your BTC for Neteller and you can cashout that to your Bank account or ATM.

I do think it can only be enforced where online gambling is prohibited like in the US. But in a country where it is not, I can't see how they can do that to someone's account outside it's jurisdictions.

It's just a hunch but perhaps you spent it directly from your wallet and you didn't realise it. Or possibly, Coinbase is tracking the coins and tracked the coins to a known hot/cold wallet of the gambling site. If you do this everytime, Coinbase may be thinking that you are providing the coins to a gambler or you are a gambler yourself. This is nowhere near accurate and it's just like how Bitpay blocks payments from tainted coins.

Unfortunately not. Coinbase is based in United States. The jurisdiction does not allow online gambling. This prohibits them from dealing with any transactions associated with gambling.

Using the Services to make the following types of payments is prohibited, and Circle reserves the right to monitor for payments that relate to:
-snip-
gambling activities including but not limited to sports betting, casino games, horse racing, dog racing, lotteries, games of chance, sweepstakes, games of skill that may be classified as gambling (i.e. poker), or other activities that facilitate any of the foregoing;
We understand that gambling may be legal in your jurisdiction, but unfortunately we cannot allow you to use Circle in connection with these activities.
It's a international(non. US) agreement. They can't allow this either as they are based in US. (CMIIW)
If you use Nitrogen you will be fine since they use multiple wallets for withdrawals and you can change your deposit address up to 5 times a day. For transferring with other books, you can use a mixer such as
https://bitmixer.io/
Before closing an account, Circle normally will ask you what type of transactions that you make and with whom. Most just say they buy and sell computer equipment and tell Circle that I would rather keep the names private. It seems to work.

What other sites can I use that are easy as coinbase? I could sell a bitcoin one day and the money would be in my bank account the next day with very low fees, less than 1%.
Thanks
I don't know any as easy as coinbase. You could buy and sell bitcoins for cash on localbitcoins. Somebody else mention circle.com, I have tried it.
Also found these, But can't vouch for them since I haven't tried them.
bitstamp.net
kraken.com
xapo.com

coinbase doesn't accept customers from my country so I don't know much about it but it follows American rules and you know that unregulated gambling sites are not allowed in the US
I heard so many people complaining about this problem , maybe you should use an exchanger or something like that cause they are following your addresses

If you are playing anonymously at a bitcoin sportsbook that bans US IPs, a VPN will allow you to get in and use the site.

nice idea of using a mixer but isnt it that withdrawing funds from a gambling site have withdrawal fee? then another fee for using a mixer?
that's a lot of fees to pay before funds reach the wallet

No moneypot provides it to players as a service just one normal fee.
