Core Job Function:
We are currently seeking a Freelance JavaScript Engineer to join our team for an exciting Bitcoin project. We run a prominent Bitcoin site and need a JS expert to help us complete a site redesign.
In this role, you will work with our Lead Developer to ensure highly reliable, stable, and usable solutions for our project. The project involves writing raw, optimized JavaScript.
Our ideal candidate has a genuine curiosity for experimenting with the web (mainly JavaScript and JS frameworks) and making cool stuff. Previous experience as a Front-End Developer/ JavaScript Architect is required. Interest in or experience with the Bitcoin community is a big plus, but not required.
This position is a short-term freelance role, but could develop into a longer term part time relationship as needed.

Requirements:
•          Experience with JavaScript – capable of developing advanced applications without relying on a JavaScript framework, with experience in interactive Web UI development
•          Experience with WebSockets (socket.io client-side development), Foundation (Web UI framework), and git & git-flow revision control system
•          Experience with PHP, and knowledge of / experience with the CodeIgniter backend PHP framework is a plus
•          Deep understanding of how JavaScript applications execute within a browser
•          A solid grasp of software design principles
•          A strong attention to detail and desire for accuracy and precision
•          Some professional experience with to modern JavaScript frameworks such as: jQuery, require.js, backbone.js, and/or underscore.js
•          The ability to self-start and self-manage in a virtual capacity
