Posts like this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1232896.40 are proof of what im talking about.  He asked a simple question and many people in page 1 answered, now there are 3 pages of posts saying absolutly the same thing over and over again. Im not even mentioning the other posts like the dice strategy one which is full with the same spam, people knows there is no strategy on dice, what is the point of that post then?

I would personally lock the threads but i'm not entirely sure how to report them or if i should report each person so im posting it here for some feedback.

That's pretty normal around here, and I'm disgusted by it as well. Check out Beginners and Help, Off-Topic, Bitcoin Discussion, or pretty much any other board. Thread starters have a simple question and people answer it millions of times over.

Well this isn't really considered as spam.
Take a look at the yobit signature compaign topic and start counting the number of posts saying that the button isn't working...

Well i don't see why this wont be considered spam because it is. Repeating the same answer over and over should be spam and even if it's not it should be baneable or reportable. I know if i report them they will probably not get deleted hence this post.

And Yerm, yes i know why the spam is coming i just want it to stop.

You might wanna read this thread I made a while a go, I was also asking why those kind of posts are not considered spamming. It's like wecan't do anything with it unless the reply is offtopic. The best solution is for OP to lock the thread to prevent more sig spammers pretend like they are answering the queation with a very constructive thought.

What you guys are failing to see here is most users whom create theose threads are in sig campaigns and theyll make a thread like that to reply over n over again to get their posts counts. Also they use their alt accounts to answer the same questions as well

Yes i know and thats why they wont bother locking the thread but some posts are really just copies of others. Like dice game strategies, there are like 3 of those with 20+ pages of posts in each. That shouldn't be allowed.

I just reported this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1234784.0. I know that my report will be ignored as the posts aren't off topic but still I mentioned my complaint in the report as 7 people are recommending yobit campaign after the first person already recommending the same. It should be considered as spam or atleast MODs should lock such threads to avoid similar replies to the topics. It doesn't matter if the user has/doesn't have a signature as even those who aren't enrolled in campaigns also tend to reply to such threads just to increase their rank.

I noticed this throughout the marketplace child boards for awhile now. By now, it must be getting annoying when active and useful threads are being bumped down by repeated, slightly reworded responses.

The current state of the Gambling forum is absolutely pathetic. I could give literally thousands of examples but a clear one is the topic "Can gambling be profitable in long term?". It has 31 pages of replies - currently 614 (!!) replies. There should be literally 1 reply:

Quote
No, gambling is generally not profitable in the long term. There are a few exemptions:
1) The casino gives you a positive edge (very unlikely since casino gives away free money this way - so only possible with short term bonus/promo.)
2) You cheat, like counting cards at blackjack.
3) It is a game where actual skill is involved (generally a game against other players), for example poker. Since there is still luck involved you need proper bankroll management to be still profitable against any variance in the long term.

I don't see how there can be any need of any other reply after an answer like that. There are simply no more answers, that is THE answer. The answer is not an opinion, it is a fact. Still the signature campaign spammers manage to make 614 replies (and counting.) That is just really, really insane. Basically all replies in there are the same, formulated in a slightly different way. That is 100% spam. But yeh... I wouldn't even know how to start reporting those? Would I need to report all ~600 "duplicate" replies? Equally I think it would be very difficult for moderators to start removing those replies without some clear rules about it.

I do not know what the best solution is. Banning everyone who makes a "repeating reply"? Well it can happen by mistake sometimes. Banning all signature campaigns? I don't know, in theory I like the way of earning some bits while posting. But it is really a problem that seems to be getting worse and worse.

PS, to at least get a high quality overview of topics again, I like to link to "Is it possible to separate businesses and gambling discussion". That is slightly related, although it would not solve this problem (would "solve" the topics, not the replies.)

PS2, the fact that other forums are "worse" does not mean that this isn't a problem in "Gambling" too. The difference would actually be that "Gambling" used to be fairly high quality posts and "Games and Rounds" replies were always shit. Also people don't really look at the replies in "Games and Rounds" forum so I personally don't mind the spam there that much compared to "Gambling" forum.

Yes exactly and there are way too many posts with basically the same topic like the one you linked.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1232896.0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1193738.0

Those two are basically the same and they both have a lot of posts it's ridiculous.

The only solution i can think of is to lock the threads instead of banning everyone and lock any other duplicate thread.

i think so coz almost everyweek we can see 2 or 3 new threads asking the same thing over and over again but i wonder why those kinds of thread doesnt get deleted or locked and some threads are created by high ranking members which obviously a spam coz they didnt even spend a time searching the gambling section for the same kind of thread

You have to convince them that a specific post deserve to be deleted. (report it and give a clear description)

I can open a post in the off topic section for example: how many hair do you have in your head/body? Then you will find hundred posts with random numbers or people saying impossible to count which is repeated many times. So basically, i don't see why mods should delete this ''stupid'' topic nor its silly responses which remains on topic...

Making new rules? For example: do not open an off topic topic in the off topic section? Or do not reply to an answered topic?
Well, when someone opened a topic and asked a specific question, he will get a first reply, a second guy will come and he thinks that the answer isn't complete so he will add another thing, the 3rd one will correct an already posted answer, the OP still didn't say anything so people will continue posting... He just need to lock the topic when he get the helpful answer...

Do Not understood me wrong, i am pissed off of many topics, replies... but asking mods to delete thousands of posts isn't a solution.

Spammers will continue spamming even if they are not enrolled in signature compaign.
Limiting posts on specific section(s) for signature compaign will lead to an intelligent way of spam on this section(s) . For example in the gambling section, i found many times a ~whole page in which the replies come from boys in the same sign comp..

@OP, if you think that your message is transmitted please lock this topic.

As i said the solution it's pretty easy, get mods to lock the thread. Im pretty sure people wouldn't spam if they weren't participating in a sig campaign because what would be the point? The only people that spammed were the ones who were trying to ''level up'' their accounts but it's nothing compared to sig spammers.

Hmm.. watching a cycle in which the shame posts are quoted and replied and quoted and replied is really annoying . I do very less quote replies. I think if you think that so @xinxan why dont you report to moderator then ?

Because i tried that already and they don't get deleted 99% of the times because they are not considered off-topic. Of course they are not off-topic but they are just repetitive and useless so i dont bother anymore to report them because the only thing i get in return is bad accuracy on my reports

I've have already suggested the rules to be changed so that duplicate posts are not allowed, but nothing happened. I would love to just ban everyone that posts shit with a paid signature or just ban signature campaigns in general. It generates so much crap (which is why I stopped wearing a paid signature).
