Use the latest one, SD-S5-20150715-fan_ctrl.tar.gz.  My current S5 would drop to 600 GH every once in a while.  After flashing with the latest firmware I haven't had that issue...for the last 3-4 days.  Hoping that fixed it permanently.

Yes, you can get the firmware directly from Bitmain here;
https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720150101032800325X8cMcY2y068F

But you say your ambient temps are almost 40c, what is the reading of the temp on the miner?

Always try upgrading to the latest firmware (make sure to make a backup though).

If that don't works consider trying different PSU (in my case it work for my S5's)

If that don't works, you should check the fans.

Making a backup might be a hassle since the backup function in the upgrade tab is only your config files. And none of my S5's have a SD card to make an image off. Either way there should not be a problem when upgrading properly with the proper firmware.

True, but a backup is safe.

Contact bitmain for the right procedure/support. This  way you are entitled to the manufacturer support.

Sure, it would be, if it was possible. And i don't know how you can make a copy of the S5 image since it has no sd card to copy. If you know how to do it, i'm sure it would be good knowledge to proliferate.
