At the time of posting this, on huobi a btc is equal to 370$. On btc-e only 324$. This is a 14% gap!...
It's a huge opportunity to do arbitrage. What are traders waiting for?

What are you waiting for?

Maybe the lack of people having both Chinese and western bank accounts to fund and send money to?

Converting cny to USD for you bank account is just insanely difficult.

The gap may even widen if Chinese start buying more.

To made an arbitrage you have to open an account on both exchanges ( a lot of documents that you have to send). And send bitcoins bought on dollars to your huobi account, then sell and you will have Yuans. What you will do with your yuans?

You should buy and sell as soon as you can.
Just check if they're different prices, like bid/offer, maybe that's why the prices are different.

Id also be wary, the price of one might be outdated.

if i'm not mistaken with huobi you are limited with cny-btc only, you need double conversion

and btc-e is very slow in sending the payment, up to one week, anyway if none is doing it there must be a reason,

First you cannot know what are to do the traders.  Wink Maybe they are doing exactly what you think that they are not to do. But it is another problem to be faced. Allow the fees that must be paid in both the exchanges to have some decent profit? Then it will be possible the instant send of bitcoins or money from one exchange to another. I'm not a trader and I have not big amounts to try these things. So have no knowledge about the answer of my questions. But if it will be possible to have profit I am sure that the professionist traders are already working and having profit.

This run is coming from China, so Chinese exchanges are leading the way. They are well in front demand and price wise. Btc-e is an exchange with the lowest price of the BTC historically, because it is expensive to get money in and out out of this exchange.

So you are pretty much looking at two extremes here. Also if you have Cny bank account, dollar bank account and you have done verifications on both exchanges, go ahead and profit from this arbitrage. This is much harder than it seems.

I think that is simple to find the why. The demand. It is the demand at the given time (moment) which make possible this kind of gaps. More demands (or even speculations in the direction of the demand) more higher the price. Less the demand, less even the price. There are to many times when are registered gaps. Not so high but there were. Such kind of big gaps were only when MtGox have its problems. In that time the price of bitcoin with us dollar it was very different at MtGox compared to the other exchanges. And no one cannot acted (to have profit from these big gaps) because of the stop of withdrawals set by MtGox.

The price difference creates a great oppertunty to do trading purposes. However the sending time is quite long and for both exchanges you need to verify your account with an ID.

For me both exchanges, but especially BTC_E are not to be trusted. Russian based etc.

as far as i know btc-e doesn't require its traders to verify themself. i can trade and cashout my bitcoins without verification there. i am however not sure if you can also cash out fiat without verification.

BTC-e is a exchange market and trading platform which was founded in mid 2011 and it is operating since then.
Even despite that hacking attempt in 2012 they managed to recover without taking money from their customers.
I wouldn't necessity call them untrustworthy judging by their history.

Huobi's price is inflated by the robot. btec-e price is low because it takes long time to deposit fiat into the exchange. It is difficult to trade between those two exchanges.

BTC-E is always slow with following other larger exchanges. Some times there barely is a difference between BTC-E and the larger exchanges. And some times the difference is greater than $15.

As other have said, it is the slowlyness /difficulty to move money between those exchanges. The slower and harder it is, the higher the gap.

It is just as profit you can get buying something in place A and selling it in place B. More profit tends to mean that A and B are far away / takes a long of time to go form one to the other.

It doesn't seem like a good idea no matter what exchanges you use, the gap may be big but by the time you manage to withdraw dollars or whatever currency you transformed bitcoin to, the price could have gone down by 100$ who knows
