I've been looking a bit into Martin Repetto's background. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was CEO or Minor Studio (a company of Hasley Minor) from 2008 to 2011, and was in charge of a game project called Atmosphir, which key feature was the ability to design your own 3D worlds. Looking at Youtube videos of Atmosphir back then, when it had 20 or so developers working actively on it (again according to Martin Repetto's LinkedIn), it looks strikingly similar to Voxelus.
Video tutorial of Atmosphir builder (2010): here
Video tutorial of Voxelus builder (2015): here
There are many more similarities, like similar textures used between Atmosphir and Voxelus. Search Atmosphir videos on Youtube and Voxelus videos on Vimeo.

So same entrepreneur, same CEO, same lead developer, same concept, very very similar engine and game mechanics, very similar texture and objects base...
This leads me to the question: is Voxelus an attempt to ROI Atmosphir's intellectual property (that belongs to Minor Studio and therefore Hasley Minor)? What happened to Atmosphir? Could the same happen to Voxelus?

According to Atmorsphir's wikia page:

Quote
During November 2011, Atmosphir's website had been going blank. It is now confirmed that it is abandoned and all of the progress on it has stopped.
During February 2012, the site reopened. A new developer, called RohanArin's released a statement a few days after the reopening:
"Hi, I began working on the bugs last year. There may be short downtimes to update things. Your levels and accounts are backed up, so no worries. I work on several things at Minor Studios among which now include maintaining atmosphir until more developers are hired. I am aware of most of the bugs, but if you find something new post it so it can be tracked down. Anyway the site should be up for a while Smiley Also stay tuned for some cool new stuff. Best, Rohan"
Not munch is known except the fact that new developers are slowly being hired. Updates may come in a very slow time due to the bugs and the problems Hayley caused to make him finish in first place.

then

Quote
Atmosphir returned at the hands of its old community as of January 7th 2013 (The game died due to lack of funding in 2012). While the game is currently up and running again, the website is no longer available. This project was made possible by two developers. One user began the driver by de-compiling all of Atmosphir. It was later revealed that another used had been working on a functional Atmosphir server as well.

So basically the project failed due to lack of funding after one or two years of uncertainty where progress seemed to have staled, site was blank, and little information was released in complete disregard of the community... Does that ring a bell? And when the project ultimately died, instead of releasing the code as open source to save the thousands of hours of work the community poured in building games and levels, Minor Studio just pulled the plug and hung them out to dry, and some community users had to reverse engineer the binaries to figure how to recreate an open source version of the engine to salvage everybody's work.

Three years later the project is relaunched as Voxelus, still closed source although it's been crowdfunded. And once again, funds dry up, development stales, information release slows down to a trickle. Are we headed for a repeat of the failure of Atmorsphir? Is the project going to agonize another one or two years while every last premine token is being dumped, and then the project will shutdown, and reopen under another name in a few more years? Or was Voxelus just a way to ROI the expenses incurred by Minor on Atmosphir at the minor cost of a simple GUI redesign and a bit of marketing?

How to interpret this is very much a question of subjective perception. Under the current circumstances where the leadership of the project can't even be bothered giving updates to the community that crowd funded their project, and yet still actively maintain a wash-trade bot on Bittrex to generate fake volume, the worst should be assumed.

Let's give one more week to Voxelus folks to get their shit together, give an update and answer pending questions on this thread.

If nothing is done, we should assume this is indeed a scam based on a rehashed and rebranded failed project, and start airing the matter more widely, including contacting Bittrex and Poloniex to ask delisting.

so what have you concluded

No way! Jim Blasko and the voxels team would never do that. They are obviously working diligently on cutting edge technology every single day.  They really want to be the leader in VR, you can tell by the constant updates cant you?

I'm not in control of any of those coins, but the answer is no. As you can see from the very low amount that are on exchanges for sale, voxels are still in their first 15% and some do get sold thru the Voxelus platform.

"Prove it" with the premine addresses. I highly doubt there would be people making 20 btc dumps so often if they paid 0.001 btc per coin.

We have been asking this for ages, but all the concerns were dismissed as FUD. Neat way to avoid answering those who question. I hope no one trusts him without proof now

When I created Voxels, I did it for the client, Voxelus. I have said this before, and now I'll say it again, Voxels is not my coin, I was hired to make it for them. Per their request I premined the first couple blocks, and gave the coins to Voxelus after the crowdsale.

wtman, I don't understand why you just keep trolling or asking the same question over and over. You keep asking me to prove something that's public information... The Voxels block explorer shows everything that has ever happened. The reality of the situation here is that I couldn't possibly hide the premine address from anyone... It's a public block explorer. I don't understand how you try and make it out to be my fault that you refuse to use the block explorer to find the very simple answer you seek. You're still claiming I won't show the premine address... lol seriously man, there isn't even a for me to hide it!  Do you just like trolling me and Voxels?

wtman,  I'll make this super easy for you and it's the last time I'm responding to your comments, because you have done nothing good for Voxels, not to mention I've already had to kick you out of the slack channel for being pushy and demanding and starting bs threads. So here you go, and this is again the last time you'll get any response from me:  https://www.blockexperts.com/vox/height/1        <---- Now that's the first block. See that address the coins were paid too, it's the premine address aka it was the first address for Voxels.  Next try block 2.  See, that was so very easy right? There is the premine address you claim I'm hiding from the world.... These claims that I avoid the question,, well the only thing that's been avoided is you taking 30 seconds to look it up. Like I said above, I gave the coins to Voxels after the crowdsale they are a client that hired me. You can track the coins as far as you want but the truth is this, how many coins are for sale on all exchanges combined? Now you'll have to do some research and then some math. Since you seem to have trouble using the block explorer, well allow me save you the trouble of math.

Bittrex total VOX coins for sale, 864,959 VOX         (less then 1 million)
Poloniex total VOX coins for sale, 3,656,957 VOX    (just over 3.5 million)
LiteBit total VOX coins for sale, 957,497                 (less then 1 million)
Livecoin total VOX coins for sale, 118,165               (just over 100 thousand)

Grand Total of Voxels for sale on exchanges: 5,597,578

Total up those coins for sale on exchanges, and this total is less then 6 million VOX. This is much less then the initial 31.5 million coins authorized to be sold starting day 1.  The 15% (31.5 million) is all that was released. Voxelus hasn't touched the remaining 85% of coins. There's no scam, no lies, no messing around here. Numbers do not lie.  The only ones making up bullshit in this particular forum are trolls.

I ask kindly that the FUD, and trolling stops here. The Voxelus platform continues to expand with new users everyday and user created VR content being sold in the marketplace. Voxels isn't going anywhere.

Martin and myself, are doing another interview with UploadVR.com this week. They are the number one news source for VR news and they like Voxelus and Voxels. The last story was a cover story that did very well on their site for exposure. Once the interview goes live I'll let you guys know.

In other news, Voxelus is now the number one source on the planet for VR content with over 500 worlds to explore. With VR starting to pick up steam, new users everyday will need a place to go for new VR content. Voxelus is currently the leader in VR content so we expect good things to come.

Waiting to hear interesting things

The 2nd UploadVR interview was done Friday, I didn't make it, but Martin did. Should hit their site this week.

Jim

Jim, this is not a fud or bs. Just want to ask you when can we expect to see an article/interview by Uploadvr promised by you last month.

Voxel’s public crowdsale at Sale.Voxelus.com will last 30 days and will sell up to the remaining 30.3 million tokens it has made available at this time.
Voxels are priced in Bitcoin , on day one of the crowdsale they will be available for 0.001 BTC (approximately $0.34 USD) each, based on that day's exchange rate during the crowdsale.
This rate will only be available for 24 hours, ending on Tuesday,  November 3, 2015 at 8:59 am PST.
After that, the rate will increase to approximately $0.38 USD  (900 voxels per Bitcoin) through Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 8:59 am.
Final tiers are at approximately $0.43 USD (800 voxels per Bitcoin) through Sunday, November 22nd 2015, and $0.45 USD (750 voxels per Bitcoin) through December 2 (earlier if all voxels sell out first).
PLEASE NOTE THE CROWDSALE IS OVER THESE RATES NO LONGER APPLY.
The Final selling crowdsale price was 1/650 per BTC.

FUTURE DISTRIBUTION - VIA VOXELUS and UPHOLD
Voxels is the only currency for use in the Voxelus VR Platform.
The remaining 85% of Voxels will be released for public sale over the next 20 years at Voxelus.com and Uphold.
Each 15% or 31.5 million VOX will be available for sale, after the previous 15% has been purchased. This will happen as the Voxelus VR Platform expands, Voxels will be released based on public demand as they are purchased from Voxelus.com and Uphold. Some Voxels will be offered and used for development, content creator bounties, and marketing.

@Jimblasko
Did Voxel team sell any of remain 85% vox?

Quote

Voxelus owes it to us to answer questions. I still don't see the addresses with 85% of the coins. Just show us the addresses where the 85% of the coins lie. I have already looked at the block explorer but the premine addresses are NOT obvious. You expect us to just assume the addresses? If you or Voxelus team can't take 2 minutes to give us the premine addresses, then sure it tells a lot about you guys.

If you can't handle the stress of answering basic questions, then you should resign. It is such a shame. If you are just the developer and don't know the answers, why isn't anyone else available for answering questions?

btw, it is good to hear from you that 85% haven't been sold, assuming its true. However, voxelus still remains shit.

The number of coins for sale on exchanges means nothing. Are you really kidding us? I'm so amazed to see this reasoning.

Asking the same question for the 3rd time now in two weeks.

@jimblasko: why does Voxel need to be it's own blockchain, in particular a cripled blockchain that's controlled centrally and therefore pointless? You would have much less maintenance overhead, much more transparency, and real decentralization if you used tokens like Counterparty or Omni or Ethereum based tokens. It would also be much more simple for everyone to use and for exchanges to support. There are many good projects that use these tokens: Maidsafe, Synereo, Storj, Agoras... You may have future plans to implement custom features at blockchain level, but by then blockchain technology will have changed so much that your Litecoin fork will be totally obsolete anyway.

Every morning I wake up and bath myself in tears of Voxels bagholders. The smell, the taste. So good.

I'm highly convinced jimblasko either doesn't care or has no incentive, obligation or intellectual capital to provide the answers. Other team members at Voxelus don't care either. Your question should better be directed to Martin, the ceo of Voxelus or Halsey Minor whose name helped get investors. Those guys are nowhere to be seen, unless you can ask for a Slack invite and get accepted, so good luck getting answers

I questioned these people about why everyone had to "ask" for a slack invite and why they were not open to everyone by default instead just like other legitimate coins. I was dismissed as a fool and troll for asking this

I believe virtual reality will be huge in the coming years and vox is positioned well I doubt the people spreading the fud even hold any vox if they did and this was there opinion of vox they would have or should have dumped it a long time ago to constantly say a coin is a bad investment why would some one with that opinion continue to hold it I,would like to know how the funds from the ico are being used

The vox team should re state exactly what there plan for, selling the next 15 percent of the coins are and exactly what the plan is for the next twenty years this along with telling the community how, they are using the ico money would go a long way to,reestablishing trust and confidence virtual reality is going to be huge and eth fell dramatically at first then when the eth people got the community confidence behind it the price soared and I believe the same thing is possible with vox
