Have you rooted your Android phone ?

I did so i can install "Lucky Patcher" and patch some app's like PowerAmp (the best music player)

I use a custom kernel + custom recovery and have debated using custom roms
but chose to use stock roms.. i always hear about broken features or stuff i don't like on custom roms.

i have Lollipop on my cheap Motorola E (2nd gen) phone.
I bought it then went and got an unlimited usage monthly / contract for it (so i own my phone / paid in full)

So do you guys use Android ? Did you root ?

Apple users.. your doing it wrong Wink

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Of course. I hadn't owned a single Android phone I didn't root.
Speaking of it... Hadn't owned a stock Android phone for a long time. I always tend to use custom ROMs and recoveries.  Embarrassed

Don't worry about rooting warranty stuff.. many companies will still cover you if you un-root it.
Also i am surprised how many said yes in the Poll wow !

Like i said the main reason i did it was to get free software AKA:Piracy
But i mod everything i get my hands on so..

I don't care about my warranty though.. my phone was cheap it cost me $130 can.
If it breaks i will buy a new one.
Also i have Google setup to back up EVERYTHING.
it required hitting two check box's LOL
One was the backup options and the other was downloading Google Photo's and hitting that checkbox.
So when i re-install a new firmware wiping out my phone and i log into my Gmail account
the phone restores everything.. from installed app's to contacts to pic's and txt messages and emails etc

No, I am also surprised how so many guys have said yes. I haven't rooted it and the primary cause is fear of getting the phone marked as useless . Its also bit tough to unroot the phone again. I have a samsung galaxy s duos 7562 android ice cream sandwich OS.

For me it's quite easy to unroot it. I just have to flash back the stock ROM. That's what I like about custom ROMs. They're so easy to reverse.
