There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

It is flabbergasting that this happened in California to a 20 year old.  No wonder he lives in Japan.

I too am flabbergasted that the country with the highest per capita incarceration rate on the planet would.... oh wait.. no I'm not.

Going to bed now. Will read tomorrow. Finally, Roger tells all about his Magic The Gathering enterprise. (unless that was left out)

I don't know whether to laugh or cry - the agent was upset at what Roger said, so he decided to prove him 1000% correct about what happens to people who talk about past agency abuse...that's the exact same reason they were mad at Koresh. I guess we can at least be thankful they didn't call in the tanks this time.

I Googled pest control report and it definitely does not deserve a 10 month jail sentence.  Right now you can buy a box of gunpowder and bullets shipped by mail at Cabelas which can do the same thing with no paperwork required.

I also found this.  Craziness:

Shit! Left out! But I don't care, for this only confirms why Roger is on my list of people I trust in this community.

Again, here is the short list, but please don't be offended if you don't see your name:

  • Roger Ver
  • Rassah
  • Gavin Andresen
  • theymos (the bastard who banned me--twice)
  • Charlie Shrem
  • Erik Voorhees

Well a good 70% of that is related to the failed (but very profitable) war on drugs.  The US non-drug inmate population is comparable (albeit still higher) than many other first world countries.

You got to remember that there is lots of money in domiciling non-violent drug offenders, harden criminals not so much.  The ROI% on profit-prisons is much higher (as a % of inmate population) the more non-violent offenders you can pack in.
