Hello Sprouts,

We now support SPRTS as a Cloud Staking option on Steak Cloud.

Regards

Steak Cloud support

"Steak Cloud logo"

              Increasing Altcoin Value

That's some exciting news for Sprouts holders who don't want to use their own power to stake.

Will it be a combined SPRTS staking pool or just individual ?

Hi Enticed8,

We provide "Pooled Minting" so to speak.

Each Staker receives a dedicated wallet address to deposit coins to in order to track the balance but all coins pool together in the same wallet to stake more effectively.

Crunk, the community is not happy with the 'growth rate' of the coin. Many of them want some sort of inflation control. I do not believe inflation control is needed. Reference DOGE coin to see why. We can still grow Sprouts, don't get me wrong. The hardfork was suggested as a way to move away from the inflation. I would personally like to keep inflation as it is, although this being a community coin, we have to move as a community, or not move at all.

The fact that Cryptsy has gone belly up has caused a wealth of Bitcoin flow to leave the Sprouts market. We were getting 10-20 BTC market flow per day when Cryptsy was working as it should. Now we have half of a Bitcoin market flow on Bittrex. We can still thrive with this, although Sprouts is not flowing like it should. For some reason we were getting a lot more attention on Cryptsy. I would LOVE to see that attention move to Bittrex. Although, we have yet to see it. Feedback is needed and we can work on moving forward. I must announce though, Cryptsy has shot us in the leg. We are limping at this point. We need the community to come together to heal from this wound.

Ah I see now what you mean.

Personally I am not a fan of Bittrex either in my opinion Richie has got too big for his boots as well and feels he can do what ever he likes, and both the exchange Bittrex and Cryptsy don't care about coins like this one and the damage they are causing.

My SandG coin is invested in Sprouts so I have a reason to see it succeed, so if there is anything I can do to help please just ask, and when I do buy or sell Sprouts I use Cryptopia to accomplish it.

Thanks
Crunck

heh please enlighten me as to what I've done or explain what damage Bittrex has caused.  I would like to know if we are doing something that is negatively impacting anyone.

richie@bittrex

First off I said in " my opinion" and that in no way is linked to sprouts.

And that is what it is an opinion, I don't see how you help young and up coming coin by charging the amount of BTC you do, and then throwing them off when they have a bit of a bad time and the volume dips, but as i said that is my opinion only, and I guess you have a business model and as such the fee's and delisting is a necessity, i just feel you are in a position to be able to help new and improving coins and dont do enough, of coarse I dont know everything you do or dont do and you may do a lot i havent seen or noticed but i can only say as i find

Cheers
Crunck

That's fair and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think some your facts are off.  Less than 10% of coins ever listed have paid, and it was on their accord not ours.  If a coin wants us to rush launch them on their schedule we ask for a fee.  I don't think that is unfair.  We have listed over 600 coins that never paid a dime.

Also, I'm not sure what position you think we are in;  the only thing we can do is perform our due diligence and list coins that pass our compliance bar.  Our checks over the past 6 months have gotten even more vigorous because of all the scam coin launches that preceded them.  We cannot do anything other than provide a secure service that works smoothly.  Anything else we do would make us bias to a coin or developer and that is not something we engage in.

As for volume, we don't even look at volume until a coin has been trading for over a month.  De-listing is part of every healthy ecosystem. Nasdaq/NYSE all have rules around market cap/volume/etc. We have been very transparent of what our requirements which are published. Even with those requirements, any coin that has an active dev or community usually gets a free pass for a while. I'd personally rather have all active markets than a bunch of dead markets no one cares about.

None of these things are because I'm "too big for my boots" or Bittrex not caring about a coin.  It is a necessary evolution of how an exchange has to operate given the market conditions.  If you have ideas on things that we can do that would help, I'm open to any suggestions you have, so please feel free to PM me.

thanks,
richie@bittrex

An interesting response!
Perhaps I have been a little quick to judge, and you are correct in your assumption that some of my facts are off, I didnt know less than 10% were paying clients and if they get a rush job that is fair enough to be a paid service.
I apologise for being to quick and jumping to the wrong conclusion, and the way you have dealt with it by being polite and reasoned has not gone un noticed!

Thanks
Crunck

Tis cool... you can always find us on IRC or the $JBS slack if you'd like to air your grievances.  I am always happy to listen or have a healthy conversation about our practices/guidelines/etc. Wink

Thanks,
richie@bittrex

So there you have it from the horses mouth! Nobody owes us a living. Too much speculation, although speculation in itself can provide desirable results. Cryptsy is still alive, but only just as it seems. Bittrex has taken us on seeing a possible potential. Cryptopia is our great standby. Screaming for other exchanges would, it seems to me, to be counter-productive ... unless they are in foreign, non-US markets such as Yobit. BTER and Biteb9 deserve our attention too.

Volume? At this time, I think most of us are too busy staking.

It's up to us as a community to provide a fertile ground for Sprouts to grow in. Let's not sit back and rely on Peonminer et al to provide all the fireworks ... and fireworks they have provided. Let's co-ordinate and think of ways to proliferate Sprouts to the sprouter limits.

One thing that strikes me is that this coin is tailor-made for the gaming industry ... not that I am a gambler. With Quark, one of my original favourite coins, you have to keep on buying it to plug into games and casino options. With Sprouts you acquire a reasonable stash, keep it staking and you have a considerable, replenishing supply of coins to use.

It's made for the exchanges too, or do I have to draw a diagram?

No!!!! They don't!!!

I can understand your reticence. I have expressed a similar sentiment in other threads because of the presumed association with Cryptsy.

However, 1) they do seem to be run by genuine Chinese personel separate from Cryptsy;
2) I've done several trades with them and all but one were executed very quickly; and
3) last but not least, they do seem to have a gateway into the important Chinese market.

So unless you have any direct experience with biteb9 contrary to mine, I suggest that we give them the benefit of the doubt for now.  Wink !!!

Interesting, although your biteb9 warning is not in line with my experience. From now on, I will be more cautious in dealing with biteb9.

It is well known that biteb9 is using the Cryptsy template. Perhaps their inexperience is showing through in dealing with hiccups. Dalistar might be able to provide more information on this since he is a contributor to the other Sprouts thread (there are two) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1103868.msg13414237#msg1.

Hi! I Like the way you started the coin.. I also see that you are open to good Ideas..  and I have some SPRT too! Smiley
I work in PR, so my mind is generating many ideas for different products.. So here I have a simple Idea for "coin supply control":
The actual numbers must be discussed and all I put is for you to get the Idea.
I called it Fertile Address. So what we can do (I say WE, because I am the part of the community) add a feature in the wallet, that will allow people to generate a New Fertile Address in return of "burning" X amount of coins.. and coins send to this new address will stake at a little higher % ..lets say 15% after 5 days and +5% for each extra day.. (remember that numbers I propose - must be discussed within the community!)
So! ..For example... One can destroy (burn) 1 000 000sprt and will see the New address generated in his wallet. Coins that are sent to this address will stake at better rate then the "simple" new address.. not just for your pretty eyes, but for lowering the overall coin supply for the whole community!
Its just like in nature - ashes of burned plants are used to fertilize soil for better crops.
We will answer a the main question by implementing this feature:
- why BUY more sprt??, not just hold and mint and sell, active supporters - who BUY sprt at the market would love to have some advantage for their coin support.. This is called "stimulating demand" in marketing or demand stimulation, by making people interested in actually getting the coins from all sources// The sprt is cheap, so the market is - the great source of coins!
Also its a free-will action! So, you are not forced to do anything if don't like, but you can, but get greater rewards.
The good thing for the dev team is - you don't have to change the existing rates and make all to get through hardforks!
Simple math.. If 100 richest wallets will generate at least 1 such Fertile Address, we can take out 100 000 000 coins from supply - it will skyrocket the price within very short period!
we have only 278 228 259.74286097sprt at the moment ..

This is important that this addresses are not Sold as "stakers", but generatet inside your own wallet for helping community to control the coin supply, as burned coins will be taken out from staking basis!

thank you!
peace

Yes, I saw the screenshot showing the Cryptsy name tag. The Paul Vernon/Big Vern name is also prominently displayed in the biteb9 chat box. The question is how did biteb9 acquire their Cryptsy template?

Was it sold to them by Cryptsy e.g. as part of a franchise?
Was the template 'stolen' from Cryptsy?
Is it, in actual fact, Cryptsy reappearing in biteb9 clothing?

Cryptsy need to clear this up and address other highly defamatory accusations, of which there are quite a few. It amazes me that they don't seem to have done this already to any great extent. A simple statement could provide some clarification concerning the clouds of speculation surrounding Cryptsy at this present time.

OK. I'm withdrawing any implied suggestion of bitebi9 as a possible home for Sprouts.

I've been playing with fire, using bitebi9 for small trades, not risking too much money. I made some 'interesting' deals and successfully withdrew them without too much trouble. However, I've just encountered some Cryptsy-style problems in trying to withdraw some Tek - "We are sorry, an unexpected error has occurred". Overall I've not lost any money, but ...

Extreme caution advised if trading on biteb9.

Guys if you want this coin to perk up again, Try looking for vendors that take Bitcoin or better yet another ALTCOIN and send them a EMAIL and ask if they are willing to accept SPROUT COIN ! It only takes a minute If everyone just sent out 1 to 3 emails a week we can # 1-Use Sprout coin for other than trading (dumping) and STAKING!!!  #2-We can buy something possibly useful to buy! #3-Create a demand again for SPROUT COIN! #4- What we all want the PRICE to move UPWARDS!  $4-Well this is what I call making CRYPTO REAL!!!  Because if you cant spend it what is the POINT?
COMMENTS would be greatly APPRECIATED!! Cool

We should talk about the future. Cryptsy is gone, the volume and price is free falling at Bittrex. Peonminer online at every day but don't answer to the private massages. a_cat_named_joe didn't signed in in the last 2 weeks.

The distribution of coins is pretty well now, we have a relatively massive community but everyone is quiet. In my opinion the "inflation control" doesn't a solution because the inflation does far higher than ~2%/day so the market cap is decreasing. The problem is the inactivity.
