The speculators ran out.

There was no real SOLID news or reason backing the sudden price increase, sanity is now returning and we probably will see $250 again before the end of the year, as I've been predicting for a while now.

I don't think we'll see $230 again though, pretty sure the price will settle in a LITTLE higher.

$10 price variations are small, not worthy of consideration. Pretty much the "noise level" on the price.

Only morons were predicting $1200 on this spike.

So I noticed we dropped to $330 this morning when I woke up. I wasn't expecting for the price to go up but definitely I'm not hopong it would go any lower but to my surprise I didn't noticed that it was aboit to fall.

So are we falling back again? What's causing this?

It was most likely a hot air pump that caused the price to go to $500. Now everything has cooled down, people start to realize the same and start selling before it goes down further. This just makes me more believe in the theory that it has something to do with the FBI auctioned the last SilkRoad coins. After the auction was over, it started to fall HARD. Just look now, it touched $300 and no one is willing to support these prices. That says enough.

Going back to 300 today.  Reason: more sellers than buyers

i would say less buyers than sellers, which are always the same 2-3 manipulators with big stash

right now it's all in the hand of the demand, great demand = great price, lower demand = lower price

Less than $300? Yes might be possible. That would be really sad but try to take advantage of it if you are a real believer in Bitcoin and try to accumulate more.At least this is what I will do and always have done when the price decreased. Try to leave the feelings out, not feeling depressed by actual situation, and think long term if you have caught the bigger picture of what Bitcoin can grow to.

It's all part of the cycle, btc was down for almost the whole year, so it's bound to go up sometime. Now it's up, it's bound to go down. History will continue to repeat itself unless huge events, like big news entitling appreciation (like the Economist cover) or the halving next year, affect the cycle.

And hey, if ever we're already at the floor during this downtrend ($320ish), it's a good thing. This level would be the baseline for the coming weeks.

I am afraid but it seems that we will. Why? Who the heck knows! I am quite disappointed though. Also if we break $300, I don't see why we wouldn't go as low as $250 again to our old levels. Like that, we will be again at the square one!

Quite frustrating I have to admit!

Two or three weeks ago someone predicting $500 in two or three weeks would have been considered a moron too.

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I hope it will go back to 250ish and stay there for a bit. I need to rebuy and my paycheck should arrive in about a week or so.

If you are living paycheck to paycheck, my advice is not to buy bitcorns.

My advice is to buy as much as you can afford without having to sell it in the foreseeable future, as it is your best bet of getting out of the paycheck lifestyle.

Look inside yourself, and you will see that you are the bubble.

This is where the wall will be. That is my prediction anyways so my hoping is with your too.
Not so many will sell if it holds there. I will definitely buy at that price. Here is hoping it will reach that today.
I am with OP on this one, doubt it will fall below that.

It was obvious that this is going to happen eventually because that pump and rise on the price had no apparent reason even if some people say there is ...
so the price now is 314$ according to preev.com , hopefully we don't go under 300$ because that won't be so nice .

Yes I do believe that the price will not go under $300 levels in very near future. Because the cost of bitcoin mining itself around $300. So we can expect bitcoin prices may sustain around this $300 levels itself.

so many people had high hopes from this pump, even prices as +$1000 were constantly mentioned. it didn't last unfortunatly. but we'll definitely see another pump in the next months as the block halving is comming closer and closer.

We will not fall under 300 as the recent mini pump only started around 350 and above. Before that we had a slow and stable price increase. I'd say anyone wanting to buy cheap bitcoins (under 500 USD) has another 6 weeks to do that. We will see another real bubble at the end of next year, but I expect a rise to 900-1100 USD by August. 3k by end of december 2016, back to 1.5k january 2017.

And they'd still be semi-morons, since the peak was a good bit below that point.

There was NO REAL NEWS, no way Bitcoin was going to exceed it's previous peak.

The halfing pump won't be 'till probably at least April, more likely May-June timeframe next year.
THAT one will have a solid reason behind it, and I expect pricing to stay a good bit higher after the pump speculators die out.

Will it get back below $300? I'd say "definitely, probably by end of month".
Will it get back under $250? I'd say "probably, but not certain as so many folks bought it and probably plan to hold for the NEXT spike to sell".
Will it get back under $230? I'd say "probably not, unless some major anti-Bitcoin news shows up".

Current times are good for trying to get your coin count up. We don't have that much time left before people will go crazy in order to get themself a few coins. Buy while you still can at a good rate.

It can happen to see price under 300$ but that will be for short period.I think we will see new floor between 320-340$ for a while exact the way it was between 220-240$ for some period. No worries because there need to be correction for some solid floor on long term basis.
