This is my 1st year mining with the S3's.
They are in my garage that is unheated and the temp in the garage will easily drop this winter to 10 degrees F
Can the S3's operate in that cold.

Condensation will be your biggest issue. You may consider 'greenhousing' them in a plastic box with cutouts etc to keep the actual miner and its case >5C.

Never had issues running them -20C. Just keep them hashing so they stay warm enough. Condensation is problem only if you turn them off and let them cool. Then you have to get them inside and let them dry. Had those running last winter and 3 of them kept (not heated,no insulation) storage temp above 5C all the time.

Honestly these miners are so old that even if you end up breaking one then its not a big loss. I would care more about damaging the power supply rather then the S3.
