Bitcoin mentioned in TV commercial

So on the Science channel there is a commercial for a show called All American Makers and they mention bitcoin. I don't remember the exact wording but basically they replace the word cash with bitcoins in a sentence. Pretty cool, anyone else see it?

I would of expected to be mentioned on the science network. It is a big thing when it is mentioned as a replacement for cash. That means it has evolved into the mainstream and they do think the television audience does know the concept of what bitcoin is and how it works.

Exactly. It's been used on TV before but mostly in a negative/drug use way. This was very positive and used in general conversation.

I haven't watched that more of a Dragons Den Shark Tank person but for a pitch that makes sense but it didn't turn up a result on the website.

It is nice to see that we going into mainstream media and that it is turning into a household name now. One of these days, the kids will ask for pocket money in Bitcoin, because the Tuck shop only accepts Bitcoin. ^high hopes^
I have seen some mention of Bitcoin is TV series, but it was mostly negative and linked to some criminal use.

Wow. It's pretty good to see that Bitcoin is getting more publicity and I am not too surprised that it came up on an ad that was on a science show. Bitcoin is becoming more and more popular so this was going to happen at some time and it's better that it comes out earlier rather than later. I have not seen it but if anyone has a link to it, please tell me.

Yeah. I think that the topic of Bitcoin is very interesting and entertaining so TV companies should start broadcasting it. It is also great as it is good publicity for Bitcoin which helps out Bitcoin and the TV companies.

Good news. We need more mainstream exposure. Internet is the best medium of information traffic, but bitcoin has to reach to people who are not using internet everyday.
And we need good news on TV and not only "ISIS is using bitcoin" headlines on the News.

I think that we will see more and more news like this! General public is slowly getting tired of worn out negative stories about Bitcoin, and it's getting very interested by its amazing technology!

This commercial, just like the articles in the Economist, etc are the proof of this. Bitcoin is still here, it's surviving, it hasn't disappeared and people are getting intrigued by all of this. Our time is just coming!

Someone should record this and upload to Youtube. All of the mentions of Bitcoin in mainstream TV have always gotten tons of views, every views count into getting Bitcoin out there outside the geeky forum circles, unfortunately most people are still watching TV to get news and will not even check the internet for anything that is not facebook.

There was no link to remember. I saw it on TV, not on the interwebs. I have tried looking online but cant seem to find it anywhere, I also dont have the means to directly record from my TV onto a computer. The only thing I can do is record it with my phone which I can try to do this evening.

It could be only in America, Im not sure honestly. I have never even seen the show - only the commercial for it.

Good to see that science channel mention bitcoin. But it will be better to be an whole report or program dedicated to him. Eve better if it will be a serial. With all the possible data that can be founded about it. Those things given in a scientific channel are a important thing. It is another thing to hear something about bitcoin in the news and a totally another thing to see a documentary, program or report dedicated to it at a scientific channel. Not because bitcoin had necessity to prove something to someone about its being and invention but because it will be a clear sign of its importance as an invention.

This is like first steps of bitcoin. I`m looking how we are all excited cause this little things. One day all this will be normal thing ( we are hoping that one day will be like that, right?), bitcoin have big potential for using in every day needs, and for keeping it safe. Maybe that is what we need some big push like that, big commercials, everyday on tv, radio...  rich group of people, or just one man to push it with some big investment. Maybe even someone from here will do that. And like in most cases the one who do that first, will have the most profit from it.

The recording isn't great but even live it's hard to understand him. I'm pretty sure he says '...coughs up the bitcoins.'
I think the show is similar to shark tank, I'd like to tune in and see if there is any more mention.

I haven't seen it myself as I think that advertisement doesn't show up in my country. But, accordingly i can say that this statement is somewhat correct in sense. Bitcoin deserves to replace cash.
It clearly has a plus point over cash because of being lightweight and simpler. The ultimate benefits of replacement of bitcoins over cash is that it can be used worldwide and can make transactions from sitting in any corner.
