UBS is going after the trillion dollar settlement market

In the interest of creating a safer market environment, the financial industry has been working together to reduce settlement times and counterparty risk when delivering or receiving securities amongst each other. After the 2008 financial crisis, the industry started to work on creating a “global settlement standard” that will reduce settlement time for most major markets.
