I have been scammed... is there anything i can do?

I have been scammed for 0.18 BTC for a careless skype conversation with a stranger (which I've came accross on http://www.fiverr.com). Had I used their fiverr payment platform - this would have been avoided, but I've paid him with bitcoins directly. That was my mistake. Looking back on this, I take full responsibility, as it was my fault and stupidity forwarding this stranger the money - for such a risky thing to do. I've learnt my lesson. It still bugs me, is there anything I can do (i.e. tracking this person? money?)

If you want to recover your money, pretty much nothing you can do. As bitcoin is irreversible, the only thing you can do is track which address he sends it to , but that would be just wasting your time as bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous. Next time use an escrow or if you are dealing on fiverr, use their platform, let this be a lesson.

Both to be blamed. Fiverr is a good platform but they dont accept Bitcoin. Check out SEOClerk. It may be limited to only tech related services but they accept Bitcoin. Next time use an escrow or trade with someone that can be trusted. You said you came across this scammer at fiverr right? I think you can easily track who is he or she.

This sums it all up. "Don't send bitcoins over carerless conversations with strangers through skype".This results in losing your bitcoins which you are never going to get back.All you can do right now is forget it and be careful from next time.As mentioned by @mexxer-2 above ,use escrow services over such trades.

Well, you did send bitcoins without any guarantee that he would finish the work/refund you incase something goes wrong, which was a stupid move IMHO

If you deal around the forum and follow the guidelines etc, you have 0.01% chance of being scammed, so , no he isn't to be blamed for bad reputation of bitcoin, its like saying dollar should be banned because its used in unethical business, or saying guns should be banned because many people might misuse it. Bitcoin is just a tool(currency) , what you do with it depends on you.

Yes, I came across this scammer at fivver, but I broke their rules for paying him directly via skype conversation. Should I pay extra 5$ via fivver to ruin his reputation? Is it worth it?

Afraid not much you can really do apart from take it on the chin and treat it as a lesson learned, sharing on here allows other people to learn from your mistake so there is that positive  it won't tet you your money back but at least it is something.

if you think your proofs are strong enough for them to believe that one of their user is a scammer then you should go for that, atleast his reputation there will be ruined but dont think you can get back your coins tho

Learn from your cheap lesson and next time you know what to look for. Everyone has to get scammed sometime just depends on the price of the lesson.
