Most altcoins are garbage, but there are a few that did advance the blockchain technologies and made us better understanding the cybercurrency. Yet none will ever getting close to bitcoin.

Some of them only but it's easy to spot the legitimate altcoins, you have to make sure you invest in a big funded ICO and altcoins that has a good roadmap.

That's maybe true in the present because to be highly developed and to rise sky high like bitcoin now, altcoins need to have enough amount of time and draw plenty of attention to grow. But as time passes by, this might no longer true. Nothing can last forever and so does bitcoin, it will surely be replaced by another crypto coins, what's left now is the matter of time.

yeah most altcoins designed for a scam attempt and it will always be like that
no altcoin can compete with bitcoin , it's too big as a pioneer
you cannot say bitcoin will last forever indeed
but based on current condition bitcoin far strong better than any other altcoin.

Altcoins since the begining were used for just two things, to let the creator get some easy btc, with a good or bad crypto coin, and the other one were to whales or small groups does use them to multiply their bitcoins, i dont know how many bitcoin has changed hands due to exchanges that makes the service between buyer and seller. Some altcoins has growed and now are mature coins with potencial to grow and follow bitcoin, but no one knows when and if this will happen, some altcoin reach 300 dollars and above.

Without alternative coins bitcoin could not do options like alcoins trading because it is a form that can be used in trading and its so important because in trading there is possible high profitable investments that is always an opportunity specially for those who wants secure investments. Altcoins and bitcoins is more like partners in all situation without the prescence of each other its not complete at all someone is missing if we are talking about bitcoin, and its more useful in any aspects of investing digital currency.

'Nothing can last forever'. Yes you are right. Even though we are confidently saying that bitcoin will be there for long year it doesn't mean that bitcoin will last forever. If the bitcoin supply will be low and the price is very expensive then it would make other investor to hesitate if they will invest in bitcoin so they will find for alternative coin that offers almost the same service just like bitcoin.

Bitcoin with few altcoins would have been great, that created an opportunity to trade in the market. But not where we are standing now. We have around 800 odd altcoins which is ruining the market actually. Investments are getting divided in to those 800 altcoins which could have been divided in to few altcoins and bitcoins. If this happened, the bitcoin price would have touched more than 2500 grand.

Nowadays if you have 100 USD to invest, you can make your own coin with the help of a programmer. This is not good and it is attracting the investments which should have been flowed in to bitcoin.

Why are you worrying about stuff that is out of your hand?  I don't mind having millions of altcoins being created.  There is always a selection process where scams and not good altcoin will be weed out and the legit and good one will remain.  YOu cannot control other people, sometimes even your relative when it comes to deciding on what they think is good for them.

I don't think that those investment invested on other cryptocurrency will be invested in Bitcoin if that cyrptocurrency does not exist.  They invest on that alternate currency because they value it more than Bitcoin.  They think it is more important than holding bitcoin.

Big funded ICO might even become a scam or is already a scam. The ICO project may seem funded and have proofs for it but the dev can always fake it by depositing bitcoins coming from their own pockets. There's also a huge chance that the owner of the ICO gets greedy and take all of the solicited money for their own personal gain.

Popularity isn't also the basis for the ICO's success. People can always hype up an altcoin and dump it so hard right when the price increased. That leaves the said altcoin a dump coin since no one is going to invest anymore.

Well, ICO is not always trustworthy, some of them even turn into real scammers and steal all the money of investors. You need to have a decent knowledge about the blockchain system, altcoin develop in order to find a successful ICO. Yeah, I have seen many projects which only need a small fund but still can beat many other cryptos

That's maybe true in the present because to be highly developed and to rise sky high like bitcoin now, altcoins need to have enough amount of time and draw plenty of attention to grow. But as time passes by, this might no longer true. Nothing can last forever and so does bitcoin, it will surely be replaced by another crypto coins, what's left now is the matter of time.

altcoin is not dependent on Bitcoin and Bitcoin does not depend also to altcoins but  creating an altcoin would be beneficial since you can converts those alts to btc..

ALtcoins are dependent on bitcoins. If you notice on exchangers the only way to purchase or to avail an altcoin is through bitcoin. Why is it? The reason is simple, bitcoin can be exchanged to dollars easily and even to local fiat currencies in many countries while altcoins cannot be. Altcoins still needed to be traded to bitcoins so you can convert it to cash.

On the other hand bitcoin can survive without any altcoins since it is backed up by dollars and not by altcoins.

That is absolutely true that Altcoins are dependent on Bitcoin. Basically altcoins are just smaller cap investments (for the most part, ETH was probably one of the closest to overtaking Bitcoin) that are just even more speculative in nature than Bitcoin is itself.

The removal of Altcoins from the cryptocurrency ecosystem would hurt Bitcoin in the short run but in the long run there probably would be no real difference growth for Bitcoin without Altcoin.

One case where I think Altcoins were very useful is when people wanted to donate to various charities with Dogecoin. That was probably one of the few times I have seen an altcoin used for good and not for speculation.

I just wanted to get your opinions on this one , what do you think Bitcoin would be if there was no Alternative coins such Litecoin & Dogecoin and the others ...
I mean it would be better with or without them Bitcoin would have no value at all ?

I think bitcoin without altcoin will continue to run normally, but on the contrary. Altcoin could not walk without Bitcoin. And I think altcoin  is a nice discovery, because with it we be able to have other options if the price of bitcoin was not friendly. hehe

I think competitors are indispensable to the development and progress of bitcoin. Perhaps if bitcoin without altcoin, bitcoin will not be able to be the best because there is only one crypto. I think it's better bitcoin has altcoin competitors because it would trigger bitcoin to continue to grow.

Most altcoins are garbage, but there are a few that did advance the blockchain technologies and made us better understanding the cybercurrency. Yet none will ever getting close to bitcoin.

The thing is for us daily traders, as well investors, we are always searching for the next coin that might get better value over time, soo we split our investments into more then one coin, i do see this as a way to minimize the risk. But lets think if all altcoins die, i will have to risk my money only at bitcoin, soo this should result into a bigger change in the price even with the big price we do already have. For other side, each person would not be able to get or make amazing results and get more extra bitcoins without trading, we would see only people with big purchase power getting bitcoin, something its unrealistic nowadays. Altcoins does allow anyone to start from zero and achieve good results, the same way some people does with currencies when they play forex or do make sport bets.

so its mean alt coins are depending on bitcoin, to me i think both bitcoin and alt coin are important to each other, to me as i most invest my assets in bitcoin and from there i futher invest my bitcoin into alt coin and same is the reverse procedure when i want to cash out my some money.
