Bitcoin without Altcoin ?

Bitcoin won't get affected at all. Try to recapitulate those days when there was only one cryptocurrency ~ "Bitcoin" It seems that altcoins are exploding. Almost every other day you hear about a new coin that just came out which is “the best coin ever!!!“. Even altcoin forums don't care if 5 to 10% of all currently traded altcoins are de-listed in one day.  Therefore, this whole "altcoin" thing you're supposed to be talking about is evaporating as we speak and you can't be bothered to take notice.

Bitcoin is unique and is valuable and will not only survive but also succeed with or without altcoins.These are alt coins which are dependent on Bitcioin so far and their value is set up on the base of Bitcoin.Bitcoin without Altcoin will be same I dont see any effect.

Bitcoin is the big brother, everything else exist of the succes of bitcoin. But in some way they complement bitcon which make the crypto scene so appealing to new people every day.

I think the opposite because if there are less or none altcoins then the focus will be only in one coin which is bitcoin, there would be more investors and much more business running only in bitcoin and not in alt coins

When Bitcoin takes off it's hard to see well established and innovative alts not doing well also. Despite popular belief, not all Alts are absolute shit coins like Litcoin and doge.

Better with them. They serve as a good experiment for shorter block times, algorithm and features etc. Some altcoins did gained some recognition from the media which is great for Bitcoin since they're linked in terms of them being virtual currencies. It did give some attention to Bitcoin too.

If altcoins offer new technological idea and it's very useful, Bitcoin devs can implement it to Bitcoin. It's also good for competition and free market. Having different options is always better than monopols.
If there weren't any altcoins in the market I wouldn't mind but we have so we can mutually benefit.

the marketcap of bitcoin would be bigger without altcoin, because it work like this

I don't like altcoins, mainly because they keep people distracted from one goal, and that goal is to have ONE strong and accepted everywhere concurrency.
If we continue to share our efforts and create more altcoins - which - let's  be realistic have no chance to be successful - then bitcoin will suffer.

It would be very bad if bitcoin was the only one around. That would mean no innovation, or at least stifled innovation. One of the main purposes of altcoins is to innovate and develop several other features that bitcoin doesn't have. They can surpass the limits of bitcoin and help create workarounds for these limits.

Exactly, if someone feels the need to purchase another altcoin, then they are in a way forced to buy bitcoin because it's hard to trade fiat for other altcoins... all of the business is done in bitcoins.

Plus there are still ways in which one or two altcoins are beneficial to the bitcoin world.  Coins that are using ring signatures such as monero makes it easy to mix your coins yourself and to get back bitcoins just like you would using a 3rd party mixer.

I have long believed that some alts can even take over Bitcoin, but now I see I was wrong all the way. The world ain't ready even for Bitcoin and not some other more complicated and probably less secure alts.

What we need to do is keep an eye on these alts and try to incorporate technology that they introduce into Bitcoin if it suits us. This is all that alts are good for in my opinion!

what if...

starbucks, walmart, 7eleven created a loyalty card system.
1% of all purchased gets converted to an altcoin chain,
EG
for every $1 spent puts 0.01 loyalty coins into an altcoin address linked to the customer.

with 1 coin valued at $1.
people can buy loyalty points(coins) like saving up for christmas, but the coins can only be spent instore.

instantly a coin like this will get recognition, without customers having to know about the techy stuff in the background. and making this coin more popular then bitcoin.

retailers would love it. because they wont need auditors or security teams, or having to claim it on their IRS reports, as its not fiat

Well this is a very nice idea and I bet that any altcoin would kill for this kind of recognition. This has made me thought, why would altcoins get promoted, why not do the same with Bitcoin? For every purchase, you get let's say that 100 satoshis.

Even some kind of sidechain could be developed so that fees are not paid for these little loyalty amounts!

I think that Altcoins may have given Bitcoin a little competition, but Bitcoin is still the clear winner of all the cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is the most used cryptocurrency by a long way.
