Bought in over the last few weeks to DarkNet.

Currently holding 300,000 DNET at about average 550 SATs. I am thinking I may try and push my holdings to 500K.

Few questions.

1. If I wanted to get 30 - 50 masternodes up and running, what is the easiest way to do that? I think I saw something about using a paid server with unique IPs for each node?
2. What is the maintenance on those masternodes? Do I need to update all of them every time there is a wallet update?
3. What is the risk in setting up those masternodes? Any chance I lose my coins if i don't update a wallet or bug?
4. Can I stake with my wallet instead?

Keep up the great work.

I actually sold a bunch of Dash and partially cashed out of my masternode. Dash price is way too inflated and too pre-mined. When is website coming back on? Community seems pretty good.

i will try to answer some:

Few questions.

1. If I wanted to get 30 - 50 masternodes up and running, what is the easiest way to do that? I think I saw something about using a paid server with unique IPs for each node?
i guess easiest way is to use mp-hosting
2. What is the maintenance on those masternodes? Do I need to update all of them every time there is a wallet update?
for mandatory updates yes
3. What is the risk in setting up those masternodes? Any chance I lose my coins if i don't update a wallet or bug?
hmm don't think so. all your coins are in controller wallet. so just take care of your controller wallet and you will be fine
4. Can I stake with my wallet instead?
yes but you can't stake with coins reserved for masternodes

Keep up the great work.

I actually sold a bunch of Dash and partially cashed out of my masternode. Dash price is way too inflated and too pre-mined. When is website coming back on? Community seems pretty good.

Check, correct the bug, and reimburse the quantity through proposal approved by MN owners. Could be a solution?? If true, and  it looks legit, as Mn owner y prefer to find some kind of solution than a flame war here.

That would be fair.

Really need to protect the rep of the coin. Cannot let this stand. Would undermine faith and confidence of any longterm holder.

This should of been rectified by now, but slipped through. I will refund to all the originating address soon.

I greatly apologize for this. It is not a hack, but was an issue in the budget system.

There are 13 proposals that went through, so there are 13 of you missing funds. Please PM me you addresses, and I will cover the coins.

hmm just thinking about that. how have you fixed the problem and why is it able to do such things anyway? you should not be able to change something however you did it in a wallet that will stop coins from being pulled from peoples wallets?? how is this budget system able to pull coins from peoples wallets?? thats flagging as a no no. can you explain.

I see that there are still nodes in my peer list that are running v2.1.2.3.

If you have not upgraded to v2.1.3.0, you need to upgrade you wallet.

We have an active Payment Processor for those who are interested. Cointopay.com has added Darknet and I have tested it to be working. I have also Posted it on the OP.

It was a bug when we changed from PoS to PoW, when the superBlock is processed, it is taking the coins from the user that finds that block. Stakebox is looking into a fix, so waiting to hear back from him.

It's just worrying that some code that is in there is able to take coins directly from a user's wallet and put it into another. Will wait for stakebox to provide the technical solution and how it was able to do that. We're these wallets not locked? Still shouldn't be able to take coins.

OK everyone, I have been really busy with some non-crypto stuffs lately, I have been neglecting my duties here, and for that I apologize.

I live in northern NY, I don't mean like Buffalo, I mean like Massena, really northern NY. I heat my home with firewood that I cut myself on our land, I hate to sweat, so I do it as I need it through the winter. I use a Suzuki Samurai to get in the woods and retrieve it, the Samurai I use for firewood(I have a few of them) took a pretty good beating last year and I neglected working on it all summer as I was so focused on DarkNet. It is starting to get cold here and I really needed to get some work done in preparation for winter. One thing lead to another and the project became more and more involved. I have spent the past few weeks in the garage basically from the time I got up until I came in and crashed from exhaustion. I do still have a bit more work to do on that front, but have put things on pause for now to hop in here and look into what happened with the budget payments.

I thought that I had fixed the issue, yes we had a similar problem last month, but there were only 2 budget items, and the person who was effected is not active in here, but is on skype with us all of the time. There is still some work that needs to be done on the testnet, as I was unable to get budget payments to go through on there, so was not able to test the changes I made in an effort to fix the problem.

DarkNet is pushing forward with being the first on several fronts, the first PoS coin on a more modern BTC codebase, the first PoS coin to utilize the decentralized blockchain based budget and voting system, and many more to follow. There will be bumps along the way, as you all have come to realize by now. Nothing will stop us from pushing on, it would be nice to bring some more devs on board on a more permanent basis to help, I see that there have been a few pull requests on github, that is a good sign in that regard.

Well, I am going to get back to work on DarkNet for the rest of the day, anyway. I will still be in and out over the next week or so while I wrap up my Samurai project, I will try to be more available during that time, but I do kind of have a one track mind, and it is getting colder and colder here, we've had frost twice now.

lol above.. and we don't really need DNS servers , I checked dnet network flow and it was uninterrupted

too early yet for a collection (last collection was exactly 7 days ago when I added 3 MN's) it would be (20 x 78 x 7)  10,920 so one MN per week (minus maybe one or two that malfunctioned during the 7 days) so more or less 4 MN's a month ..

I am targeting 100 but than again I know my greed and might go above (greed but also desire to push tech to its limits)
