Hey, i don't wanna be buggy or somethin', but there's no withdrawals available/Maintenance on the Cryptopia Pivx wallet "Network has forked, Investigating" for more than a week.As a related aspect, i have a few hundred units there and i'm a little anxious about this situation.I hope there isn't any risk or loosing them pivx coins in that exchange wallet, getting compromised or something  Cry
I have attempted to contact them and no response, I have submitted a support ticket (hasn't even been read yet) , they know who I am, and have not reached out to me about any issues.

Then it's OUT with them!!! exchange back to BTC and straight to Bittrex to re-buy PIVX again (into private wallet)  Grin

Here's something I posted on Slack a while back for the newcomers to PIVX. (slightly updated)
It's just a list of stuff as I see it. I tried to stick with facts only. Hopefully it's useful to some.

What sets apart PIVX from other digital currencies? (or just good in general)

01. PIVX is a open source crypto currrency based on DASH so it inherited its core technologies such as Masternodes, Private transactions and Instant Transactions.
02. PIVX uses Blackcoin's improved Proof of Stake 2.0 protocol instead of Proof of Work. So it is more efficient in keeping the network secure than PoW.
03. PIVX had no ICO nor existing pre-mine as it was publicly burnt.
04. PIVX is based on Bitcoin 0.10.x core (and currently going to 0.13.2) which means it is more up to date than most other PoS digital currencies that commonly use a lower Bitcoin core version.
05. PIVX employed a professional media company for its new logo and website development. (Go live ETA end of Feb)
06. PIVX uses an innovative variable Seesaw Reward Balance System that dynamically adjusts its reward to masternodes and staking nodes.
07. There is a technical whitepaper for the above feature. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1G58gtDdQtT-8kV8Fu7_764Fxn0i5fs0jGURvz8KJlTE/
08. PIVX has an active community on multiple social networking sites such as BCT, Slack, Reddit, Twitter, Riot etc.
09. PIVX community also uses Trello for publicly accessible task planning and management.
10. PIVX has a highly active, accessible and responsive development team. (always open to new devs)
11. PIVX is available to trade on multiple exchanges including Bittrex with plans to be added to larger exchanges.
12. PIVX currently has a monthly decreasing block reward inflation with it reaching its final low inflationary rate of approx. 4.8% pa beginning mid-May 2017.
13. PIVX has a repository of guides with more planned including video guides and materials. https://darknet-crypto.atlassian.net/wiki/display/DG/Darknet+Guides
14. PIVX has had consistently higher profitability percentage compared to other digital currencies utilizing masternodes such as DASH since launch and even now.
15. PIVX will remove coinjoin method of DASH and implement a modified libzerocoin protocol and will be used full-time. It will utilize performance degradation.

Top50- Top20 Coin
...soon/very soon.

More Uptrend to come.
Awesome Job so far.

Enjoying the price rise but I'm a little confused. Are we porting zcoin or zcash tech into pivx?

If it's zcash. We are still on the launchpad and heading to the moon!

Devs are going to implement the zerocoin "protocol". This is not the same as Zcoin or Zcash.
Anyways, there are very good reasons for this and devs are sure that it is for the better. Wink

BTW, we have many new devs that joined PIVX core team past few days.
We now have at least 6 core developers with more joining as I write this!
Their profiles will be on the new website. (ETA approx. 2 weeks AFAIK)

If you or anyone can also help, please PM s3v3nh4cks or join our Slack's #development channel.
You can join via this URL to get an auto-invite. Everyone is welcome! http://slack.pivx.org/

ayyy, thanks for correcting! zerocoin protocol it is.. sometimes as things are moving so fast lose the important details in a shuffle.. thanks again

quick update: clearly demand is exceeding supply! have a great week all!

So, after hours of hassling and 4 days of waiting, looks like Bittrex is finally updated... OMFG... I don't want to do that ever again... :/

On another note, They cancelled everyones Buy and Sell orders... So go check them if you had any..

I propose that we use some funding to get a slot with Bitcoin Rush. Good PR once zero protocol is launched. I think it's only .10 BTC or quite possibly free.

Q. Is Pivx similar to what Komodo is doing? And if so, why are they valued 10x more than us?

Just checked into the Forum after a couple of months & I was surprised to see that the name was changed from DNET to PIVX.

I'm bit curious to know whether all my DNET/PIVX Balance on Bittrex Exchange is Safe or not after this Name Change?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Beats me. They don't have masternodes, it was started as an ICO and their current supply is double that of PIVX. They do have d(elayed)PoW and anon transactions though but even then the price discrepancy shouldn't be ~5.3x (~10.6x with same supply).

Whatever the case might be I'm holding strong and long 1% of the supply and only sell off the staking rewards occasionally.

RIP Bittrex

Your coins should be fine, there was no fork in the rebrand. However, all buy/sell orders were canceled by Bittrex in the rebrand if you had any.

KMD is very different from PIVX. KMD is a fork of Zcash, so the only similarity will be the use of zerocoin protocal even though implementation will be different; like the difference between Zcoin and Zcash (both use a form zerocoin protocal). KMD is also taken over Supernet from the NXT asset chain (plus dPOW already mentioned above). Only similarity in my opinion is that KMD will probably be a good investment like PIVX; both have dedicated communities and multiple devs trying to make the projects successful.

Most of those projects like Komodo have the same people working behind them who create 20+ ICOs in one year.

PIVx devs have been consistent with their project and very transparent, personally I don't do long term holding unless certain criteria are met by the devs. PIVx happens to have met my criteria for long term.

Other projects are for shorting because it is obviously a cash grab with too many fantastical promises.
PIVx has kept it grounded on reality.

Thanks for all the answers guys. We really seem undervalued compared to all the other privacy coins out there. I guess the market is waiting for the actual implementation of the zerocoin protocol. When that happens the price is going to rocket ride up! I too feel this PIVX is long-term hodl!

+ very good payout structure (inflation control has been accounted for)  I say conservatively 10 mill (or > 10 x market cap) is achievable
