Wait, we can stake without running a masternode?

And where are you guys getting so many IP addresses from to run masternodes on?

Staking will begin in about 5 weeks from now when it switched to PoS.

Check the OP under Services for some links to the MN hosting sites.

My MasterNode mined two blocks already. 22.5 coins in each. Is that not POS'ing?

No. That's just masternode payments and isn't from staking.

IDK the answer to you second question. But would like to know myself. What's the cost?
Obviously via tor or IPv6. The best i can do is currently 1$ per MN / month with some tweaking. With some more i could get it probably down even more, but would mean worse reliability and thats a no-go for me.

fancy making a guide on how to set up a server/hosting with multiple MN on it at that low price? tried do it myself but its hard. would help with the distribution of the nodes as most of them are through mphosting. tried doing it myself but its complicated.

Back to 1000 nodes again. I might buy a few more soon after the halving.

I got no problem in showing you how I do it
But the setup costs are high
I've
For 128 nodes you will need
1 server with hosting etc and the right OS ($85 per month )
128 ip4 addresses ($1.74 each)
IT CAN BE DONE for less but not with ip4

Thanks Paul

ah right. I got no problem with your service but does it make a difference that they all on your server? thinking of others really. the maintenance you do behind the scenes is worth what your charging anyway. saves me messing about when something breaks and your update scrypts are spot on when the exe updates.

thats good to know
but if any one wanted to setup a server ill help them out its the startup costs thats the main issue
then you need to make sure that the provider you use can suoopt what you are trying to do etc..

i aint got 128 think he was using that as an example of block ip addresses you have to buy. I dont think there are many people in DNET really and there  quite a few people with close to 100+ nodes each so its not distributed very well atm.

when the last server went down i got them to swap it for 2 more servers
so  now i have 9 servers  in 3 differant parts of the world

i see the MN count is back up over 1000 again thats a big jump
it would be nice if other providers tell there customers if they had a probolem with there servers  like i do.

thanks

ye might be slightly cheaper once all set up but the extra is paying for your services when things like that happen. If you aint got a clue about servers, linux, proxmax like i havent it is very hard. Better to leave it to those who know how and pay them a little Smiley

Absolutely, i can keep it that low because i know how to do it and how to scale / automate when things go wrong. The preparation for that took years ;-) A cheap VPS and some decent linux knowhow is all you need. I have chosen vultr.

To give you at least some pointers why i have chosen Vultr:
  • vultr smallest instance is 5$ / month
  • datacenters all around he world
  • 3-5 masternodes can run on one SMALL instance
  • IPv6 subnet included for free
  • Bitcoin payments!

If you dont mind use my ref link:

I prefer to keep it the way it is for the moment. Way too many projects to work on, including contract work. Feel free to ping me anytime individually for Unix and Linux, especially  Security related projects  Wink

Not sure what's the cheapest. But I use MP hosting at $1.50 a month and I'm happy to recommend it. (on the OP)
