A quick question: is the update to switch to POS mandatory?

Yes

Ok Everyone, the new Source has been pushed to github,  and I am building the wallets now and will push them when they are done.

There are a few things to know about this update,

First: No changes happen until block 259201

Second: This is a Crypto first, and a lot of coding went into this to be able to do PoS on Bitcoin Core 0.10.x and as such, I apologize in advance if there are any issues we did not find in testing.. Smiley

Third: The masternode enforcement has been turned off until 85% of the Clients and masternodes have been updated, at which time it will be turned back on. Please update as soon as possible and be patient as updates can be bumpy.

Lastly.. This update will require you to re-sync the entire blockchain on both the client and masternodes. It doesn't take too long as it is small at this point. You can delete everything in your wallet folder except, darknet.conf, masternode.conf and wallet.dat.. Make sure you make a backup to be safe.. Smiley

Please post any issues here and I will address them as soon as possible,

Thanks

UPDATE: I have notified the exchanges of the required update, I am sure Bittrex will be on top of this, but Yobit's new policy says they can take up to 2 weeks to do wallet updates.. so user be aware please...

THINGS TO BE AWARE OF:

- when the last PoW block comes in, you will need to restart your wallet to activate staking. It might start up automatically after a few minutes, but I always just gave it a hard restart.
- Your wallet needs to be synced to the full mn list, or else the staking will not activate.
- The wallet will disconnect peers that are not on the current protocol after the last pow block

yes it is.. Smiley I will be posting the wallets later today, had a little delay, we noticed something that needed to be updated, so wanted to push the wallets once. shouldn't be long though

Wallets are posted.. Now remember, don't panic when you update your wallet and can't see your masternodes.. both have to be running the same wallet version.. Smiley

Yes. It's a mandatory update as you'll start to lose peers after block 259201.

Did you completely delete and re-sync the blockchain? I see in your firsat post you say re-syncing, but did you delete everything except the darknet.conf, masternode.conf and wallet.dat?? and then re-sync?

I would delete everything except the darknet.conf, masternode.conf and wallet.dat?? and then re-sync? Your VPS will require more ram than before

it's a dedicated box with 128gb, no resource issues. our of memory might be an erroneous message from my stratum server, but simply means, there have been changes that make it not compatible with normal gbt results...

Could someone post a similar command script to something that was posted before? (to upgrade each MN)

For example:
Quote
./darknet-cli stop && sleep 90 && sudo rm -R darknetd && sudo rm -R darknet-cli && wget https://github.com/Darknet-Crypto/Darknet/releases/download/v1.1.0.1/darknetd && wget https://github.com/Darknet-Crypto/Darknet/releases/download/v1.1.0.1/darknet-cli && sudo chmod +x darknetd && sudo chmod +x darknet-cli && ./darknetd && sleep 90 && ./darknet-cli getinfo && ./darknet-cli masternode status

you can use that script, but instead change v1.1.0.0 to v2.0.0.0

yea, it was going to update the pools wallet.

yeah, that won't work, stick with the v1.1.0.2 daemon as the new wallet won't have PoW abilities any longer. PoS only. PoW ends on Friday in case you were unaware.
