Is there any way to stake at the moment?

You can currently stake, run masternodes etc using the latest release candidate wallet which is RC2.
Wallet is available on github for those inclined and knows what to do. Final version to come later.

You will most likely need to perform a full resync of the blockchain to get back on the right chain.
e.g. stop wallet, upgrade, delete (blocks, chainstate, zerocoin, sporks, peers.dat), then restart the wallet for full resync.
If you just update our wallet but do not full resync, your wallet could cause the network to split again.

Then make sure you are on the right chain by matching your block/hash with presstab block explorer.

In an earlier post, you post an "OFFICIAL" update. It is time already of an "OFFICIAL". I would ask for a lot of clarity, since I have no more notion than the usual updates through windows .exe and of course, I ignore processes with programming, binaries, etc.

I am referring to a wallet 3.0.2 with your backup made and with your private keys saved too and all stored in 2 external devices. That's what I got. In these data, the sum of PIVs and ZPIVs matches the original quantity of PIVs before all updates, the only error was that it could not return the Zpivs to their original state in PIVs.

Please, as clear as possible. Thank you.

Right now, 3.0.4 RC2 is the latest wallet and is the ONLY wallet that everyone should be using right now.

So if you want to have a working wallet at present, then please update to 3.0.4 RC2 & ensure you are on the right chain.
If it is deemed stable for few more days by community & devs, then I expect a final wallet build will be released.

Many are not devs and if the steps are complicated and we fail, then we will have passed the responsibility of all those mistakes. And many do not understand anything about what happens, nor what is wrong ... nothing.

I would leave you 2 simple questions:

1- Is it not possible to wait until there is an OFFICIAL and safe solution?
2- What do we gain from updating the wallet to that new "middle" wallet? (Recognize ZPIVs on balance? Can Zpivs be passed to original PIVs?

(I would like to do staking, but in these circumstances, I think I'd better wait and I'd rather get to a normal state of blockchain, with balance recognition, correct transfers, etc.). I do not say it out of selfishness, but because it seems more logical that this test do others who know more. Do not you think?

I am sure you will have a lot of work, but I would appreciate you not forgetting here in btctalk the exact way to approach the optimization of the wallet.

From what I read in reddit (I do not have access to slack) it seems that you already have conversions from Zpivs to PIVs ... if that were fixed it would be a great achievement. I hope you can take care of the Pivians here and also, please bear in mind that many do not have level for complicated configurations and you can provide solutions as simple as possible and what I told you before about whether it is possible to wait for the wallet final or not, because I still do not know.

P.S. please be grateful for the help of other comments, but I think it is very important to identify yourself as a member of the PIVX team or not. I think it is important to unify criteria to know if an opinion is official and according to the internal slogans or only a particular opinion, which can be very accurate too ... but it must be taken as external and in its right measure.

Tried to update following https://forum.pivx.org/t/pivx-core-wallet-3-0-4-rc2-release-10-24-2017/2573 and both times stucked in block 863819. Something continues fucking up the code, guys, sorry.

If you need log files or similar don't hesitate to ask. I will left the wallet updating all night, let's see what happens.

His point is that PIVX is a well-established currency with significant adoption and trading (15+ exchanges) already. I am sure the PIVX community would be happy to be listed on another exchange, and I understand that you are not associated with CoinMarketCap; however, market cap and trading volume will be much more reliable indicators of what you can expect from any given coin/asset once listed. Voting is easily manipulated and information about PIVX and its roadmap is readily available at pivx.org.

It's certainly possible with 3.0.4 RC2 because I've done it.  I wanted to start my masternodes again (had been staking) so I've successfully un-done the zPiv conversion and am now back to 100% PIV.

This is pretty bad. I think your wallet.dat is missing the private keys of the zpiv accumulated. The same thing has happened to me with version 3.0.0. Luckily I was missing 100 zpiv only. Since I was restarting the client during this time I had several backups of my wallet. Restoring an older version, which was created right after those zpiv where converted, restored them.

Maybe there is a console command to dump your zpiv private keys? Is it the usual listaddressgroupings/dumpprivatekey? This would allow to inspect your wallet backups for new private keys, which are missing in your wallet.dat. Just make sure you don't overwrite your current wallet.dat without creating a backup, when your client is stopped!

well i have multiple backups.
loading up an older backup or loading up the backup made right after my wallet sent this 19k coins to the accumulator does not help so far
