These are still being manufactured and sold in Canada.  They are only disappearing in the states until someone buys the rights.

Why are people paying so much for twinkies in the US? I can buy them by the pallet-load from a store here in the UK - at a fairly high price admittedly but nothing even close to what some stateside seem to have been paying...

What sucks is, I've never had a twinkie before, so I decided, hey I should try one before they go out of business. Well, they are expensive now. I will say though, I've seen a lot higher prices elsewhere than here.

They are going to crazy expensive other places.  I hit up over 25 places to gather this.

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th.  The Attorney: I would advise you do that.  Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?  The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law.

Sadly, no. Of all the urban legends that I wish was most true, Twinkies are not near-immortal. They apparently have a shelf life of just 25 days...I'm Canadian, and even I went out and panic-shopped up all the twinkies i could get my hands on, just in case. They freeze pretty good.

Sucks that I can only eat like one a week cuz i'm diabetic.
