i was bored while trading so had the TV on and TV Drama called the goodwife was on. yep a drama, not a documentary or news event. but its promenent story line for that episode is bitcoin. i know its last years episode but i did not see any big notes on here mentioning it. if you want to watch it online. there are sites such as watchseries.eu which will link you to places that stream it. search for 'the good wife' select series 3 episode 13. and i recommend gorillavid, putlocker or sockshare for the least annoying advert popping up streamers with good bandwidth speeds.

There were entire threads upon that episode before it even aired last year. It is the only episode of that show I've ever watched. It was pretty good.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Me too, what was really impressive was that you could watch the entire episode without even knowing the show. I read in some the Good Wife Fan forums about this episode. They all where discussing about some drama between some Characters in that show that I didn't even recognize was going on. Nothing about bitcoin. I think the average Good Wife watcher has no idea that bitcoin is real. I hope they will make a BTC plot on Big Bang Theory that would get to the right people. Something about Howard using the Universities super computer to mine Bitcoins and Sheldon developing his much superior Alt-Chain only to be 51% attacked would be awesome. (Not going to happen, I know)

Too bad that "Mr. Bitcoin" was a bad guy, and he cunningly manipulated his own lawyers to get away from 'justice'. Bitcoin was presented in a bad light in the show, right down to the theme "it all looks so innocent on the Internet, but IRL they're criminals". I don't understand why nobody else here gets that.
the episode could have been worse talking about silkroad and the defendant being a drub dealer. the episode was all about the technology and anonymity side which is a better and more fair view of bitcoin law issues. 'mr bitcoin' being cunning is not such a badguy as the other possibilities the show could have featured. child pornographers,, arms dealers, fake ID sellers and drug dealers. so in my opinion i think the TV show had showed bitcoin in a better light then what the world press shows it. especially gaining the main characters trust for her to buy her first bitcoin. heres the choice of possible TV shows. 1. bitcoin on a law drama about being arrested for creating a currency 2. bitcoin on a law drama about drugs, child porn and other illegal trading. id choose number 1. and and im grateful that the shows story writers chose the same

They were also ungodly inaccurate. They should have consult Gavin and learn what's possible and what's not. (And it won't make the show boring, trust me. Constraint is a beautiful thing. See the movie "Contagion".)

THIS. If I knew how to contact the writers of the show, I would ask them about it.

THIS. If I knew how to contact the writers of the show, I would ask them about it. I personally know a freelance writer that has done screenplays for The Big Bang Theory in the past, and I just called him and told him about this thread. He wouldn't give me any contact info for the show's internal personell, but he said that he liked the idea, and would write a screenplay with bitcoin in it, and submitt it to see if they will buy it. Such a process takes a great deal of time, though, so you can't expect to see it this season, if at all.
