Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

how bout a bootstrap of the blockchain?

synching goes so much slower than download and update.

As soon as I can, I will make one available. Sorting out the block explorer while some of the seednodes resync.

EDIT: the block explorer is reindexing. It does take it a long time to do this, about 24 hours. Sorry for this inconvenience everyone.

0000000333ac0d1c6c57400e196c58bee923071328ed92b61936d469232c678c

Can someone confirm if this is the correct fork please?

Edit:

This lower block count, 417k, appears correct. I am getting all the seednodes on it. Then the block explorer.

These seeds are on the correct chain as of now:
51.254.216.25
51.254.216.250
149.202.49.98

Something's definitely wrong with those nodes (or maybe with just .250). I have 2 PCs synced to them (copy pasted datadir) but when I find a block on one wallet the other wallet still stays on the same block height and inter-wallet transactions never go through.

.250 is on granitecoin's network. I need to wait for crysx to wake to investigate .250 further as I do not have access to his VPSs. He should be awake in a couple hours. Sorry for this delay.

I see, well then I'm shutting down my wallets to avoid fortifying the wrong fork and hopefully tomorrow I'll get a list of nodes that are on the right fork and I can continue to keep staking and mining.

I am so truly sorry for the delay and the headache this is causing everyone. I sincerely apologize and thank everyone for your patients.

I have made a bootstrap at block height 418815, which was just ~20 minutes ago. The compressed bootstrap.dat is located at http://evergreencoin.org/bootstrap.zip

108.61.216.195 is on this correct chain.

EDIT: upload at 50%, just a few more minutes..... sorry, my connectivity is pathetic...
EDIT 2: the SHA256sum of the extracted bootstrap.dat is 00bed237590d261057e9da5d30203c763e5c0fb7cd1f86436237caeb75179322    still uploading, 70%
EDIT 3: link added. The compressed file is just over 140 MB

All the seednodes are now verified on the correct and same chain. You will be able to resync properly now. Please clear your chain and resync. It is important the entire network does get on the same blockchain.

If you are unsure on how to do this, follow these steps:

1 Close your EverGreenCoin wallet.

2 Navigate to your data directory in a file manager program (i.e. Windows Explorer).....
On Windows the data directory can be found at C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\Roaming\EverGreenCoin\
On Mac OS X the data directory can be found at /Users/YOUR USERNAME HERE/Library/Application Support/EverGreenCoin/
On Linux the data directory can be found at ~/.evergreencoin/ or otherwise stated, /home/YOUR USERNAME HERE/.evergreencoin

3 Delete everything BESIDES your wallet.dat file and your evergreencoin.conf file IF you have and need an evergreencoin.conf. If you do have an evergreencoin.conf file please remove any addnodes you may have previously added and only use these, now verified to be on the correct chain, nodes:

Code:
addnode=seed.evergreencoin.org
addnode=transactions.evergreencoin.org
addnode=egc-seed1.granitecoin.com
addnode=egc-seed2.granitecoin.com
addnode=egc-seed3.granitecoin.com
addnode=egc-seed4.granitecoin.com
addnode=egc-seed5.granitecoin.com

If you are running version 1.1.2 you do not need an evergreencoin.conf file because seednodes are programmed into the wallet. Your wallet knows to look for them already. If you have yet to upgrade to version 1.1.2, now would be a good time to do so and I do recommend you upgrade.

4 (optional) Download the bootstrap.zip file from http://evergreencoin.org/bootstrap.zip and extract the compressed bootstrap.dat file into this same mentioned data directory. This will bring you up to block 418815 faster than having to download the entire blockchain.

5 Launch the wallet. Do not be alarmed if it sits at the splash screen for a long time. If you opted to bootstrap, it will be importing the bootstrap. Even if you did not download the bootstrap file and wish to sync over the network, it may seem unresponsive for several minutes while it finds nodes. Be patient, allow it to run its course, and do not ctrl-alt-del kill it thinking it has froze.

I do again apologize for this inconvenience. I thank you in advance for taking the time to resync. It is important for the entire network to be on the same chain. I will be available should you have any question or issue so please do not hesitate to PM me, post here, or come to the IRC.

It does seem you have been on a fork for a while, sorry to say. Your staking will compensate you in the future. You should notice a sizable difference in your next staking reward. If you have coins you feel are missing beyond the now rejected staking rewards, please PM me.

Thank you for taking the time to resync.

All exchanges and pools have been notified. Of course I will make it known here when services are brought on the correct chain and are back online.

All seednodes are functioning perfectly and are extremely busy with traffic from people resyncing. Thank you all for doing so!
