::Update - Repost::Sexcoin's new client with merge-mining will be available in
approximately 3 weeks. We are implementing SegWit, and Lightning for Sexcoin will be possible.
Merge-mining is tentatively scheduled to activate in approximately 8 weeks. This release schedule is dependent on the outcome of some testing, so we are setting it as a target. Development of the new client is very much underway and on track.
Both Livecoin and Cryptopia continue to express a willingness to reopen trading. The timeline for this is unknown right now because we are still working with them.
We have acquired commitments from pool-ops to institute merge-mining. Some commitments are tentative, some are definitive. Our goal is to make sure we have enough hashpower to secure the network, while keeping any single pool under 51%. At the moment, it looks like we will achieve this. More on this later because of the tentative commitments.
I have been avoiding posting many of the details of the attack. The reason for this is quite simply that I do not want to inadvertantly write a 'how-to' guide on launching an attack. At this moment, you either know and I don't need to tell you or you don't, and then I would end up spending countless posts explaining the explanation. When the network is secured, I'll be willing to revisit this topic. However, for those who know enough to ask the right questions,

The state of the Sexcoin network right now is "vulnerable to attack", for the reasons I stated in
this post. Those conditions still exist, and our average hashrate has dropped now that miners cannot 'auto-sell' on exchanges.
There is some good news in all of this, and
for the good news, the Dev Team is really excited! As above, we are going to implement SegWit. Both transaction malleability and multi-sig are going to be fixed. The features necessary to support Lightning will be in the new client, which can help facilitate 'time-on-the-line' payments (as in pay-per-minute while active). Development on sexcore-sexcoin will be finished up and all the features that brings will be available. Because the work on sexcore-sexcoin and the merge-mining client overlap, sexcore-sexcoin will be available very shortly after the merge-mine release. We also believe we have found a way to get a sexcoin wallet onto the iPhone store.
