Angela Merkel holds surprise mini-summit in Brussels with nine EU countries willing to take large numbers after meeting resistance to mandatory sharing scheme

Months of European efforts to come up with common policies on mass immigration unravelled on Sunday when Germany led a “coalition of the willing” of nine EU countries taking in most refugees from the Middle East, splitting the union formally on the issues of mandatory refugee-sharing and funding.

An unprecedented full EU summit with Turkey agreed a fragile pact aimed at stemming the flow of migrants to Europe via Turkey.

But the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, frustrated by the resistance in Europe to her policies, also convened a separate mini-summit with seven other leaders to push a fast-track deal with the Turks and to press ahead with a new policy of taking in and sharing hundreds of thousands of refugees a year directly from Turkey.

The surprise mini-summit suggested that Merkel has given up on trying to persuade her opponents, mostly in eastern Europe, to join a mandatory refugee-sharing scheme across the EU, although she is also expected to use the pro-quotas coalition to pressure the naysayers into joining later.

Merkel’s ally on the new policy, Jean-Claude Juncker, president of the European commission, said of the mini-summit: “This is a meeting of those states which are prepared to take in large numbers of refugees from Turkey legally.”

But he added later that any such agreement would be voluntary and not binding, while the Dutch rejected German-led calls to resettle large numbers directly from Turkey.

Germany took refugees and guess what? There are incidents after incidents. Last month one of them attacked police with a knife and now:

Hundreds of refugees fought each other on Sunday in a mass brawl at a Berlin shelter and more than 100 police were called in to restore order,

Best of luck with that option. Russia is already swamped with refugees from Ukraine. There are some 3 million refugees from that country living there, mostly located in the Southern and Western provinces. Well... the difference is that all of them are white and christian, unlike the hoards you are having in Germany, France and Italy.

Who is hurting? EU is hurting. Ukraine is hurting. Russia is hurting. EU and Russian economic cooperation is hurting. Now, who is benefiting?

The Americans are benefiting out of this, just like the case with the WW2. American corporations are buying up assets in Ukraine and the other eastern European nations. None of the migrants are traveling to the US, as all of them are headed for Europe. Also, the Russian sanctions affect only the EU (especially Germany), as the exports from the US was minimal even before the proxy war.

I think first that average, normal people suffering because of this situation.
Also, Europe as idea of democracy, unity, tolerance etc. failed completely here.
EU was first idea, and later become political union but now this idea died so probably soon EU will also die in some way.

Multiculturalism has been a failure here the United States, social outcomes for different groups of people in terms of education and crime seem to be embedded in the fabric of our society and despite huge efforts by both federal and state government(s) to remedy that situation for decades, nothing has been accomplished.

The European people should not make the same mistakes we did.

Western Europeans have become too feminized and are incapable of rational thinking. They will do even worse than the Americans. The demographic changes in the US occurred very slowly.... but in the EU it is going to be lightning fast. For example, Merkel is expecting the Muslim population to grow to 20 million by 2020, from the current figure of 4 million.

And if the multiculturalism was so good, then why the Israelis, Qataris, Japanese, Koreans, Taiwanese.etc are not interested in the same?

I like multiculturalism. It gives us more choices and possibilities. We choose the food we like and if we go to an Asian restaurant the dishes will be make by a real Asian, not by someone who learned there and came back. That said I'm against allowing Muslim refugees to move to Europe. Their culture is so different that they will never accept our laws. They will only cause conflict.

Get back to your senses. The current multi-cult project, supported by the Liberals is not about opening a Pakistani or Chinese restaurant in some remote corner of your city. The ultimate aim is to make native Europeans a minority in their own nations, and to take away their basic human rights and to make them work for the invaders in slave-like conditions.
