*Thumbs Up* Cool project, this should be useful in bringing new people to the bitcoin community as you can send your friends some coins to get them started and get them interested in learning more about crypto-currencies...

thank you. thats exactly my intention behind this project. it is very easy to develop but i think it brings a huge benefit to all cryptocurrencies. the more people are using the other alternative coins the better it is for all people involved in it!

- because there is already coinapult
- i am not able to run a dedicated bitcoin daemon on my wallet server - not much space left Smiley

but you are right: if the bitcoin daemon is running it would be possible to add BTC with no effort.
i will try to finish the project and think about other currencies after release

Not outside the U.S. and Canada there isn't.  (at least not for the SMS wallet capability)

coding these things is just fun for me Smiley but i dont think i will sell shares for this project because its not so much work..

ok you are right. sending SMS is easy but then i would have to take a fee from the sender because sending SMS isnt free! do you think SMS is really needed? i think most of the users already have a smartphone and are able to receive emails...

Do you see any pins on the map not in U.S. and Canada?

(this map marks locations for a different metric but it was the only related visual I could easily find)

So yes, there are many (read hundreds of millions, or billions even someday) of potential bitcoin users where only a feature phone with SMS / text messaging is used.

The challenge though is a method that is secure (from spoofed SMS text messages though).
