That was my first guess but apparently the police found cocaine in his room and he died of cardiac arrest (no doubt due to a weakened heart due to years of substance abuse). Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley and now Scott - three amazing voices from my childhood grunge days now all gone

A lot of guys don't know you can easily drop dead smoking crack too.
It simply put paralyzes your lungs so at any time you can simply hit the ground dead on the spot.
Never mind the severe heart attack risks.. and Meth ? oh jeez
